    Hi all!

Since this hasn't reached the physical prototyping stages yet, I'm posting this in creative GD, but as soon as I get the first print in I'll move it over to heavy customs.

I decided to make a cybertronian jazz because, out of all the G1 characters who's cybertronian alt modes were shown in the cartoon, jazz is the one who's received the least love and I think he's probably got the coolest looking of all the cybertronian alt modes

I'm currently struggling to figure out what to do with that big honkin' spoiler in robot mode, it's just huge! I hate partsforming and it doesn't have the potential for transforming weaponry, so it'll have to fold into a backpack somehow along with the windscreen. I'm thinking wings? similar to wheeljacks' wing things.

The nose becomes the arms and the main body of the vehicle behind the windscreen becomes the legs, I still have some details to work out on the rear of the vehicle as well as some other panel folding.

Any suggestions for engineering or aesthetics or cool ideas are more than welcome!

Sorry no robot mode pics for now since its a huge PITA to transform in CAD and I need him in alt mode to work out the legs right now. You can kinda get the gist of robot mode from the undercarriage of the alt mode. I'll post robot mode once I make some progress on the legs.

    Update!

scratch that last part, here's robot mode as of just now!

    Articulation:
    -ball joints
    --neck
    --shoulders
    --hips
    --feet (intended)
    -hinges
    --knee
    --elbow
    --wrist
    -rotation
    --wrist
    --waist
    --chest (limited by backpack)
    --thy
    --upper arm

pretty much the only thing he doesn't have is an ab crunch joint, but that would just be too much work for so little gain and likely loss of detail.

    to-do list:
    -feet
    -neck
    -head sculpt
    -spoiler attachment
-figure out what to do with the rear end of vehicle in robot mode
    -weapon
    -other misc panel joint finalization.

As far as the backpack goes, don't get too excited, there are a few large bulky pieces missing from these pictures that I have to figure something out for.

    Thanks for looking.

    Thanks Soundpulse!

I'm intending approximately deluxe size, the alt mode is approximately Edit: 5.5 inches long at the moment. I may explore scout size for cost reasons, but some of the transformation joints are a bit small as is, so I'm not sure if smaller will be practical.

This is very nice. I've been looking around for things like this. Are you still working on it?

Have you considered using either chug or foc Jazz as a frame to build around? Loving the concept!

    my suggestions are as follows:
    1. make the legs different to look more like jazz does
    2. have the windshield swivel around when transforming to make it more like ss86
    3. make the head look like ss86
