I recently bought a Transmetal 2 Ramulus from Ebay, but small bits of the pink color over the chrome have fallen off over time. I'm assuming the colors over the chrome parts of Transmetal figures was another layer, mostly because the normal foil chrome color seems to still be on those sections missing pink. Is there a good paint to apply the pink color back to those chrome parts? Here's a photo of him from the TFWiki: http://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/e/e7/Ramulustoy.jpg
Tamiya transparent red mixed 50-50 with either Tamiya gloss clear or with future floor acrylic would probably work. But I would test it on a spare piece of chromed plastic first to get the feel for it and to adjust the color.
This a bump for a bit more info needed. I went to a few hobby shops around here, but none of them had that much Tamiya products. One worker at a store recommended that I should maybe try an ink for the transparency. Does anyone think this could work for these minor touch-ups? Bombay Cherry Red India Ink | Shop Hobby Lobby
I was thinking of doing the same thing. I bought a Silver Knight Grimlock and I want to make his Chrome parts a shade darker? I think I am going to try Tamiya clears since it may have more stick. I have tried the Model Master Clears and they hardly stick to anything? I use a brush and not spray... is there a trick for painting with clears?
