I was wondering what people thought about using G1 stickers from Reprolabels on a modern take of a figure. For example, some of the G1 Sideswipe stickers applied to Generations FOC Sideswipe, of course accounting for some stickers that may be out of scale.

Another example would be using G1 stickers on a new mold that someone has painted and otherwise customized such as Psiwire's recent take on Huffer using a deluxe Prime Kup (great job by the way). Would G1 Huffer's stickers (few as they may be) work or would they look out of place? Maybe a minibot wasn't the greatest example but that's the basic idea behind my question. Basically, would G1 stickers look out of date on a modern take of an old character?

Really, I think size would be your only issue as far as this goes. When I was younger I thought a lot of the G1 (and even some G2) dudes had stickers that really helped make the characters stand out more in their toys; Prowl and Bluestreak come to mind as having really cool stickers, and I know there's a Reprolabels set that reproduces Prowl's G1 stickers for his Masterpiece figure that look awesome on him. I say if you can find some G1 stickers that aren't hilariously big or hideously small on whatever you want to put on them, go nuts.

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking the same thing, some stickers are very evocative for certain characters and size is probably the biggest hurdle to making a modern take of a figure look "right" with old style stickers. For what I'm thinking the G1 stickers may need careful trimming because the new mold is smaller but it could still work and some careful painting may make up the rest.
