I'm hoping they keep her as Thor for a long time and keep the comics as far away from the movie universe as possible.

    But that will never happen.

If she keeps selling well she'll stay. The lines between the comic and movies are blurred already with the AoS team in the 616 universe.

WAY too chaotic in my opinion. Characters seem thrown around all over the poster without any reason. At first you think, good on one side, evil on the other, but then Beta Ray Bill, Agent Solomon, Hercules, and Loki ruin that. I just feel like its...messy.

The quote just bums me out. There's a good idea here, but its hurt a lot by poor execution. I WANT this to be done well, but so far its left a lot to be desired.

Female Thor could be a well written, heroic character. My girlfriend and I have spent long hours talking about other ways it can be done.

One of my favorite ways was 'What if Enchantress was Female Thor?' Then its explained WHY she needs to keep her identity a secret, plus it gives her an awesome redemption story.

Or 'What if she had a male sidekick?' How many times have we see, female youngster with male father figure protecting her? What if we gave Female Thor a sidekick, like Kevin Masterson, the second Thunderstrike? Now its the older woman protecting the male sidekick. Female Thor struggles with leading a younger hero despite also lacking lacking experience and we can bring back a character who hasn't seen use in years.

As it is, at her best she's dull. At her worst, we'd go as far as to call her selfish, and if it sounds like I'm being critical, its because I so want this to work, and I'm so upset it hasn't worked, least not for me and my girl. Other writers have done a good job creating diversity in comics. Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel, Aracely/Hummingbird and Anna Maria all come to mind.

And yet, I feel like I hear more about Female Thor than any of them...

No. Ragnarok is more than likely referring to the event that's destined to kill the Asgardians. Not the character, who's a clone of Thor.

Probably but it would be cool seeing more inspiration from the source material.

:lol  I read several of them many years ago. Now I need to see Heimdall and Thor go fishing and catch Jörmungandr by accident in the movie.

Kind of weird to change Thor into a woman, yet something out of R63.

Yet kind of sexy looking if you ask me.

Jane as thor issue of the old what if has went from 99 cents to $30!

    https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?TID=178771

You can get the issue in what if classic vol 2 by the way. It's cheaper then buying the single issue.

(Also the old cheap ant-man books are going up due to the movie as well!)

Aaron Teases A Thor and Loki Battle Unlike Any We've Seen Before - Comic Book Resources

"When I started writing "Thor," I could not name all nine of the realms and I certainly couldn't tell you how one was different from another. By the end of my run, though, I want everybody who's read it to be able to rattle all of them off, and of course now we have ten realms. I also want them to know what the differences are in terms of climate and the people who live there.

This is all part of Thor's sandbox. This is what makes Thor different from all the other characters in the Marvel Universe. This is his setting. It's not just New York City, and it's not just this golden city of the gods floating in space. It's all of these realms, and all these different races and creatures that call them home are part of his world. We want to take advantage of all of that while still balancing it with something that's emotional and real."

    Sounds okay. So far.

According to the recent issues, apparently the hammer is alive and has a bearing on who it chooses to be worthy.

That's only part of the mystery though, we will learn later how it became alive and why it rejected the original Thor.

Just finished the issue, was surprised at that, initially I thought Freyja was responsible somehow. Aaron is really doing some great stuff with Thor.

This book is still one of my favorites, but some of the dialogue is SO cringey that it kills me.

The recent issue has confirmed that the hammer is sentient: it contains a primal storm from the dawn of the universe. It tried to wipe out Asgard, but a then-young Odin managed to contain the storm into a hunk of uru metal. He then directed the cosmic dwarves to forge the uru into a hammer for his own use, but it was still sentient and refused to take orders from anyone... till Thor and later Jane encountered it.

It chose Jane because it needs her for an upcoming war with Kallark the Gladiator and the Shiar. Let's see how that goes.

However the original Thor is still around and venturing on a quest of his own in the series "The Unworthy Thor."

    Unworthy Thor Vol 1 1

So that's that to the change.

I actually really like the sound of all that.

Looks like I'll have a lot of Thor to catch up on reading someday, lol.

I wonder what about the other hammer(s)? Beta Ray Bill has one.
