Mark has to be in his early 20's at least, by this point. Both the Viltrumite War and his recent alternate reality adventure each spanned several months, so that's a minimum of a year and a half right there. Early 20's is a little young to have a kid, but it's not like [unnamed infant] was planned; just that human birth control is apparently no match for the Viltrumite wang.

Huh? Wait...are you confusing 'invincible' and 'invisible'?

I'm not saying it's unplausible or anything. It just doesn't sit well with me.

Anyone still reading? I still love the book and the kinda sorta reboot looks like it is going to be interesting.

Did I miss an issue? I don't remember Mark actually going into the past. I read the new one, and was a little confused.

Yeah you must have missed an issue, the one before that ended with him sitting on the toilet reading an issue of science dog from issue 1.

A lot's happened in this book thats made it go form my favourite monthly to just another book I pick up, and I don't think it's an issue with quality, just some story decisions, continuous "jumping on points", slow going story lines. i think the book benefits from TPB's in that I'll buy an issue, read it, and within about 2 minutes I've finished, and I wasn't even rushing. I dunno.

I still buy and read it every month and mostly enjoy it, though.

This last issue excited me, saddened me , and made happy again in the last few panels.

He was also behind the preacher Tv series. He produces a lot of stuff he doesn't act in now.
Such as the console wars documentary, which if it's based on the book is the Nintendo/Sega was of the 80's and 90s.

I'm going to miss Invincible but I was plagued with so many delays that usually by the time a new issue came out, I had forgotten what happened in the previous issue.

Yeah I'm bumping this old thread.

I started read this after the 1st season of the show and

HOLY FUCK! This series is amazing! I'm on issue 115.

How this series keeps upping the ante every arc.....WOW!

I read the Atom and Eve prequel, Astounding Wolf-Man series and the 2 vols of Guarding the Globe as well.

    Man, what a great series.

I wish there was a OHC/HC Omni for all the issues, even the tie ins.

I started reading Invincible years ago back when it was still coming out, and stopped around halfway through when I got tired of waiting for new issues. Well, after the Amazon show, I finally decided to go back and finish the series. And yep, it still holds up. And I still like the comic way more than the animated version, if only because the comic's art style is waaaay better. (I wish Amazon actually made the animation look like Ottley's art.)

It's certainly one of the most consistent, cohesive long-running superhero series ever: 144+ issues by a single writer, a primary artist, and a recurring secondary artist. Quite an achievement! (In terms of length and creator continuity, only some X-Men & Daredevil runs even come close as far as I'm aware.)

I love how it's an entire self-contained superhero universe in a single series. Kirkman's dialogue is nothing special (and the gore & shock moments get fairly gratuitous by the end), but the plot is creative and inventive the whole way through, the characters are memorable, and the art really carries the story to another level. It's a treat watching Ottley grow into one of the best artists in comics over the course of the series.
The entire 144-issue series is being collected in three compendium volumes (48 issues each) that are being published in hardcover this year, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series, with some fancy new covers by Ottley:

They're available for $60-ish each at DCBS or InStockTrades. The second volume just came out, and the final one should be coming later this year.

I'm a sucker for nice omnibuses myself, so I'll probably pick these up considering they're a relatively affordable, efficient way to collect the whole series.

BTW, I picked these up last month. I wonder when they'll do vol. 3?
Also, I wish they made "Invincible Universe" omnis with like Brit, Tech Jacket, Pact, Dynamo 5, etc

Nice! And same, haha; those editions are just too pretty. I've also been waiting for them to announce volume 3... and they finally did! Coming out in November apparently:

Glad that Thragg is the final "looming threat" in the cover art; I was hoping for a group shot of the heroes instead of just Mark again, but oh well, haha.

DCBS has a pre- order for the variant cover, but I haven't seen the regular version listed anywhere yet:

In any case, great that they're releasing all three volumes this year, instead of having to wait forever to complete the series.

Awesome! Reading the series again and it's just as good.

Going back and finding random Tie ins online to read as well like Dynamo 5, Tech Jacket, Noble Causes, etc while waiting for vol. 3.

I found a (somewhat) reasonably priced Astounding Wolf Man Collection HC on ebay recently so I'll read that when I get it.
