I have -no- idea what the backstory is, aside from the guy in the shop telling me that it's a spinoff from an Ultimate FF arc.
But man...the dialogue during the latter half was hilarious.

Sounds like the X-Men. |

In UF4 the team met up with a bunch of crazed, flesh-eating super-heroes gone bad when jumping dimensions. Someone apparently liked it enough to decide to expand and now we have Marvel Zombies which is set in the alternate world. My friend called me to say it was pretty funny, so I'll try to pick it up tomorrow. Pain or damage don't end the world, or despair or beatings.
The world ends when you're dead. Until then you've got more punishment in store.
Stand it like a man, and give some back. |

But man...the dialogue during the latter half was hilarious. | Yeah, it's ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR #21-23, which you could probably still get if your comic shops have it in the back issue bins. Or you could wait for the trade which might be coming along soon. |

Some of the dialogue was a little creepy (spiderman talking about wanting to die becuase he ate MJ and Aunt May). I'm really interseted in who the remaining 12 on Asteroid M are and how many shotguns/chainsaws they have. |

FLEEEESH
Yeah, the dialogue was the darkest of dark humor. Spidey seems to be the outsider of the group. He thanks them for a share of Mags-meat, and Giant Man says he got lucky that they were frenzied enough to toss scraps around. And then when Spidey -seems- to have an epiphany about their plight, someone just says "Ah man, not again".
I dunno, but I find the way that they're a bunch of hero-minded monsters that get overwhelming cravings for flesh in between trying to figure out the science of their condition just...-such- an easy 5 issues to want to pick up.
And the whole bit with Bruce Banner...
"I don't want a hole in me! I really DON'T!"
And Luke Cage "not being desensitized enough for it", that killed me.
Luke: "Wait--what was THAT? Did anyone else SEE THAT?!"
Spidey: "That was a bone popping through Banner's stomach-- making a hole big enough for part of Magneto to fall out. We ALL saw THAT. In fact, Thor is leaning over to EAT some of THAT right now."
SPOILUUUUHRS....EEEEEEEND....muuuur...
The whole cynical humorous tone of the entire sit-down pow-wow they had during the end...I'm hooked already. Total horror imagery coupled with insanely dark humor.

Superbly creepy and just the right amount of humour thrown in for good measure. |

I'm not sure if Silver Surfer is included, but I'd think that they're mostly some of the more ruthless characters. Wouldn't be surprised to see Venom or Sabertooth, and I'm almost certain there will either be Punisher or Nick Fury. |
