No not toy figures, box office figures.

But I wouldn't mind action figures either.

You should watch it ASAP! IMO its very close to the comics in terms of spirit. The only problem it can be pretty generic in terms of action...hard to put it in words but I really enjoyed it.

As for action figures, I always felt that the 2000AD world has a lot of potential. I would love to see them in 6 inch scale and a cast of villains such as Mean Angel, Judge Carl etc. I would also love to see the Lawmaster bike!

Saw it, thought it was very good. Not perfect, but very good.

    Main criticsms,

-Lawmaster bike and Lawgivers... not my cup of tea.
-Olivia Thrillme can't throw a decent punch, the bit where she beats up a few perps barehanded had be going 'ORLY'? at my TV.
-Not enough Ma Ma being thoroughly evil. In a way she was underused.
-Helmet needed to sit lower down on Urbans head.

Thats about it. Considering how much of a fan I am of the comics the film did a lot to tick those boxes. A few months ago the Judge Dredd Megazine had a feature on the Dredd movie, and the writer was going on about all the little things he put in the film (Chopper tags, Fatties, etc) and that the general outline is for the a trilogy of films, with the Dark Judges due to make their big screen debut in the second film. Which would be AWESOME. But alas, unless home sales go spectacularly well the low box office takings and possibly memories of the Stallone films might write off any sequels.

And I very much liked the stallone film too, as a 90's action film, but not as a Dredd film.

there was some rage going on over this weeks issue people were jumping to conclusion that Dredd was coming was coming out of the closet, when in reality it was about a night club with a judge theme or a guy with judge fetish (have yet to read it).

I read it and I LOLed so hard. It was a great little story about a teenager coming to terms with his sexuality, with Dredd as a backdrop.

If people actually thought Dredd was gay they need a smack upside the face. He isn't gay. He isn't straight.

    HE IS THE LAW.

    LOL, zombie thread.

But not really. Got the latest 2000AD and Megazine today, and in the Megazine (#334) John Wagner pens his first Dredd script since the Chaos Day event of last year.

The story is a one parter called 'Tough Love' and its about what Dredd does when he's the object of 'Citizen Infatuation' by a Homosexual cit...

The homosexual part of it wasn't actually necessary but I think its included so John Wagner can stamp where his opinion lies when it comes to that whole 'is Dredd Gay' topic that popped up back in January.

    LOL.

I've been reading through the first collection of Judge Dredd. I haven't made it through the book yet because even though the stories are only a few pages long, there are still a lot of them. They are interesting and enjoyable. Honestly though, I don't see how this comic is meant to be campy or comedic. Yes, it does have some funny moments (such as the censor bar over Dredd's face when his helmet came off), but the way people were making it out to be when Dredd came out last year was that the comic was nothing but funny. I'm glad it is not. This is far more enjoyable than the DC comic I remember back from the 90s, which I thought was cool as a kid, but nowadays, yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

Once I do get through Volume 1 I will definitely be picking up Volume 2. My only issue is that Volume 2 is missing stories from their long story arc, which is bull****.

If I got it right Volume 2 is missing a couple of progs because Dredd comes across Ronald McDonald in a war against the Burger King. Who has a Burger for a head. I'm not joking.

McDonalds and Burger King took legal action, so now those progs will never see the light of day again.

Dredd isn't campy, and the only way it could be considered comedic is dry satire.

I get the feeling that Judge Dredd wouldn't be receptive to any kind of sexual advance; he's just not that kind of character.

Theres another couple of parts missing because they did the Jolly Green Giant as well, which led to an amusing and somewhat facetious apology/advert strip where the characters met the real JGG and said how nice his food was.

I would be most grateful if anyone can find uploads too...I only read the Burger Wars briefly and never had the chance to read the 'green giant' arc...I was crushed to learn that it was banned and not included in Vol. 2 of the trades...
