How many here have been picking up the new Valiant comics, and what are your thoughts? I have really enjoyed X-O Manowar, Harbinger, and Bloodshot so far. I also look forward to seeing Archer and Armstrong in August.

I only read XO and not really digging it that much. I want to try Blooshot because my buddy writes it but never read it originally so don't feel any pull to start it.

I felt this thread needed revisiting cause I've been enjoying the whole VALIANT line to date.

The company rebooted as VEI, Inc last May and they have 5 titles currently.

    1. X-O Manowar (my favorite)
    2. Bloodshot
    3. Harbinger
    4. Shadowman
    5. Archer & Armstrong

As they begin year two they are going to appeal to the Acclaim years side of the fan base and are launching Quantum & Woody #1 in the coming weeks.

Additional titles they announced in the FCBD materials and later online include:
    Eternal Warrior by Greg Pak
    Ninjak

If you haven't tried any of VALIANT yet I think you'll be pleased if you do. Comixology had select books at $.99 a few months back, they may happen again.

If you tire of endless "event" and cancel/reboots at the Big 2 give VALIANT a try.

I've been meaning to pick up "Archer and Armstrong", but I want to get the HC of the old stuff first. I got the infamous "Deathmate" crossover in the bargain bin a while ago and I want to a progression of Image and Valiant through the early years, Valiant's fall, and their current material as reviews for "Collected Editions".

I remember in the early 90s when the original Valiant was extremely popular and a lot of those comics were like $50-$90 each. Going to Comic Book Show at the local Holiday Inn, and those were the big ticket hot books to me. I never thought I'd ever own them, funny now twenty years later you can get every one of them in the $1 boxes.

I remember in the early 90s buying a lot of those old Valiant Comics for ashamedly large sums of money (though I pray I never spent $50 on one single issue, I plead failing memory). I remember Harbinger #1 being over $100, Magnus #12 being ridiculous... I believe I did pick up Magnus #12 eventually, but much later, after its value had plummeted. But I do own a copy of Rai #3 that I'm fairly sure I dropped significant coin on.

Yeah, but their worthless monetary value is no reflection on their reading value. If anybody here is just getting into Valiant, seek out some of those old Valiant comics. They still hold up. Solar #1-10, the early Harbingers, the Barry Windsor-Smith issues of Archer & Armstrong... all solid. Practically anything they published before the Unity crossover (and Jim Shooter's exit) is money well spent.

Oh absolutely, the stories were great and I always pick issues whenever I run into them. I get quite the thrill finding a new old valiant book that I could never have afforded in adolescence, and it doesn't hurt those were some great stories. I mean, those comics didn't command such high prices for no reason.

So I'm hooked on the new Valiant stuff. I'm planning on just collecting the Deluxe Hardcovers and currently have the following:

    - Harbinger War Deluxe Edition
    - Blooshot Deluxe Edition 2
    - Unity Deluxe Edition 1
    - Armor Hunters Deluxe Edition

I'm eyeing Imperium but it hasn't been collected in Deluxe Edition yet. Also would like to get any feedback on some of their other events like Book of Death. Any thoughts/feedback?

Valiant just completed their 2016 Summit and the first title they've announced out of it is: Harbinger Renegades

It's been some time since the team disbanded after the defeat at Harda's hands in Harbinger 25. Kris went to jail, Peter vanished and presumably got hooked back on pills, Torque got a reality show and Faith has been keeping the heroism alive with stints on the UNITY team and now in her own ongoing title. @x will apparently also appear, their tech team member.

If you're new and curious to VALIANT and also like sic-fi(you must, right, it's a TF board) then check out their summer event 4001 A.D. It's just started and it's off to a great start.

Are there any other non-US based Valiant readers here? Are you feeling pretty shafted by Valiant right now with all of the exclusives, bundles, variants and mailaways that you can't get outside the US or is it just me?

I signed up for the Secret Weapons #1-4 preorder bundle through Previews via my LCS - my partner is the assistant manager there so I get perks. #1 turned up okay, but she just messaged me to say there is no #2 preorder variant available. What was the bloody point in doing a preorder then????

I'm curious if Valiant is still going to commit to its movie push.

Bumping this. Who else reads Valiant? I read everything from the start of the relaunch but fell off sometime around Armor Hunters. What’s been good recently?

The only Valiant Comic I've read was RAI, and I thought it was a fascinating story.

I only read the original Valiant Comics from the early '90s. I was invested in that universe, and when they rebooted I couldn't get interested in the new stuff.

With the exception of Faith and Quantum and Woody, I believe I’ve caught up on the stuff from Book of Death to present. There’s still some good stuff happening at Valiant.

Any one have news on Valiant? October they're shipping a single book it appears. And there's a rumor they longer have a physical office space.
