I was a huge fan of 2099 and one of the really fun titles was this one. Too bad the line flopped and this was canned for World of Tomorrow.

Indeed. It was one the best ideas Marvel's ever come up with. Sadly, I was never able to get into GR 2099. I got the 1st issue and liked it, but then had to drop out of comic collecting right after for awhile for financial reasons.

But I still think Marvel missed a HUGE opportunity by not doing an Iron Man 2099. I kept hoping they would, and figured it'd be a no-brainer since they had such a good setup for it already, what with Stark's company for some reason becoming owned or absorbed by that corrupt asian company Fujikawa at some point in the future. So much potential story there for say a descendent of Tony's secretly making a new Iron Man suit, whether he worked for Stark-Fujikawa or not, and working to take back his family's company and restore the honor to the Stark name.

And man, I cannot imagine how sick an Iron Man suit designed in 2099 with that time period's tech would have been. Sadly we'll never know.
This is the end for you!

They kinda did something like that in Armored Adventures with Iron Man 2099.

I was always surprised there was no IM 2099 either. There's wasn't even a cameo in another book. I thought once we got DD 2099 in the Doom AD story, we would see one but nothing.

And it was cool how Busiek made the Stark Fujikawa a reality in present day in volume three.

That was pretty neat. I wasn't big into comics during the time 2099 was running, but that was kinda interesting.

In 2099 the ghost rider was a computer virus that would take over a robot motorcycle and it's cyborg rider and the penance stare would hack into people's phones and computers, delete their porn, and post their banking information publicly.

edit: holy shit I was joking and Im not that far off.

I've always loved the 2099 comics. My favorite was Spider-man 2099.

I still don't know why they never did Iron Man 2099. There was so much potential for a series like that.
