Ok, that definitely alleviates that worry, thank you. The girl does kinda look like Supergirl. I'm not sure I'll stick with the title going forward, but I think I'll at least get the first issue.

As for her personality, I wouldn't want her to be exactly like how she was in the cartoon, but some influence from that wouldn't be a bad thing.

Edit: Yeah, I'm definitely at-least getting the first issue. I'm reading the first trade of Harley's new 52 comic and I'm loving it. Both Conner and Palmiotti worked on that, so there's a fair chance I'll enjoy their work on Starfire.

*sigh* Swamp Thing going away is a disappointment. I may pick up the new Constantine series, but it looks like I will be once again done with comics for a while...

The new creative team coming board Green Arrow in June/July stated they are writing out Diggle and Felicity completely, and will focus more on the elements added in Lemire's run.

That's great news -- the current team (the same ones behind Arrow) really ran the comic into the ground, imo. The latest issue was nothing but filler, the villain is extremely boring (I swear the same plot was used in Arrow too, but I'm like 1/4 through Season 2) and it was so obvious that they were trying to line up the comic with the show despite saying they weren't.

At least it only lasted six issues. You could already tell where they were going with Merlyn in his brief introduction.

Well that... kinda sucks. Green Arrow was one of the two titles I actually got back when the new 52 started, and I was thinking about getting all the issues I've missed and adding the title to the pull list I plan on starting in June. Granted, I haven't read anything past issue... six... I think, so I have no idea what has become of the title since then. Maybe the change up in the creative team will be a good thing. That said, I liked the idea of Diggle and Felicity being in the comics. Hopefully they don't just kill them off, and instead have a good exit for them.

I got into Green Arrow late, but Jeff Lemire's run is really, really excellent. Great stuff. I think his trades start at Vol 4 and end with Vol 6. Get those and skip the current story that is going on now.

When Lemire left the title, the writers of Arrow were brought on board and promptly wrote off everything Lemire did and replaced them with more of an emphasis on Diggle and bringing in Felicity. The comic started to morph into Arrow, and a huge, huge emphasis was placed on Felicity. Hell, the comic even reuses jokes that Arrow made. The latest issue had no impact on the overall plot at all -- you could have taken the last page and just attached it to the previous comic.

It's not handled well, imo, at all. If I want Arrow, I'll watch Arrow or read the tie-in comics. Felicity was brought in at the expense of writing out almost everything the previous author did, and gets a huge, huge focus in every issue. The biggest problem is everything in the current comic feels very forced, and it feels a lot like what Marvel does when they start bashing in elements of the MCU into the comics. Going back and focusing on elements from Lemire's run, when the comic was at its highest point, is a lot better than retreading the same ground Arrow already has.

As for the story itself, it's awful. The villain is boring, the comic moves at a snail's pace, and the writers keep cramming in guest stars like it's going out of style. Full of plotholes too. I'm super glad the current creative team is leaving after this arc. If you're going to pick it up in June, I'd still add it to the pull list, it was a great comic before Felicity and it will likely be great after. You're actually better off just skipping this arc, and the comic is better when it's not Arrow-lite, imo.

That's surprising. I mean, yeah, WB owns DC Comics and ThunderCats, but I didn't expect a crossover. ;)

DC better give me a Brave and the Bold book with Batman and Panthro!

Definitely a different kind of line-up... Was typing Cheetara instead of Cheetah an accident or a joke? Anyways, only half the team interests me, so this won't be a title I pick up any time soon.

Heh, I know, I'm just having fun. :)

Anyway, that... is actually a pretty boring Squad roster. Maybe they can make it work. My guess is the random Talon will die, soon-ish.

That's an interesting line-up, I'll definitely check it out.

At least they are trying something new. It really can't be any worse than the current New Suicide Squad.

The new issue of Deathstroke is really good. Then again, I greatly enjoyed the four issues that came before it, so essentially more of the same was bound to be something I would enjoy. I'm definitely looking forward to the next issue, which will be the conclusion of this story-arc.

Out of curiosity, is anyone else here reading this title?

I'm waiting for the trade, since the first few issues are sold out at my local stores and I don't want to jump into the arc halfway through.

COMICS: Catwoman's Bisexuality Confirmed By Series Writer Genevieve Valentine

Valentine assures readers who wonder if this means she has forgotten about the Dark Knight "that's not how bisexuality (or humanity) works." She also explains that Selina's attraction to women is as much a surprise to Selina as it was to the readers.

Well, as long as it's not for thrills and attention and is actually part of a good story...

So I haven't been following DC for a few years now. After Infinite Crisis, I lost all interest.

Then I started playing Injustice. The story line was good and I started reading the Injustice comics. Now I'm looking into jumping back in.

My question is about "The Convergence". Is it another reboot?

Interesting, but not at all surprising. Would be bigger news, imo, if they were to confirm that Harley and Ivy are, or at one time were, an item.
No. Convergence itself is just a two-month special event celebrating the great and varied history of DC comics. The ongoing comics from June-onwards are a combination of continuing and new titles. They are shifting focus away from big multi-title crossover events and dropping the new 52 moniker, but it's definitely not a reboot.

Amanda Conner has HQ and Ivy flirting and in bed together in the HQ comic so it's all but confirmed, hopefully they will come out and say it though. Valentine said this was confirmation with Catwoman not revelation so no one is acting like this should be surprising.

My god, Starfire is smiling. A new DC run and the character is happy. My only regret is that Connor isn't drawing it.

I'll also echo that the New Gods cover is very nice.
