The all-new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from IDW and Nickelodeon. Debuting in August, the new series by original Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman, co-writer Tom Waltz and artist Dan Duncan sets out to reimagine the original TMNT in a contemporary setting. Rather than serve as a port for Nickelodeon's upcoming animated continuity, the 32-page, full-color comics will establish a fresh universe populated by both new and classic characters. What's more, in addition to co-writing, Eastman will contribute page layouts and variant covers alongside artists such as Sam Keith and Walt Simonson.

I'm not gonna lie; the faces on the Turtles makes me think they have to take a dump real badly. :lol

Hmm! I thought Kevin Eastman sold his share and walked away a long time ago. Nice to see he's back. I especially liked his art back in the day, compared to Laird's especially (not that Laird was ever bad). The art looks okay here; the guy has his own distinct style.

I was actually happy enough to get them pupil-less in the 2003 cartoon. I'm still holding off for Red Bandanas, but it's not going to happen in a motion media.

Hell the 2003 cartoon even gave us Shredder's beheading in the Return to New York (taken straight from the comics). They made is kid-friendly, but I was still surprised that they pulled it off. 2003 TMNT was a bonerfest for me, but I am super stoked about these.

The 'RED VS RAINBOW MASK' argument for TMNT drives me nuts!

Of all the many changes that the turtles have undergone from page to screen that is the most minor, yet also the one that makes the most sense.

Before I ever saw the cartoon most of the TMNT comics I read were in black and white so the color of their masks was lost on me anyway.

I was introduce to TMNT through the original cartoon series and rarely read any of the original comics. But I LOVED the 2003 cartoon!!! It'll be tough for the Nicelodeon one to match up...

Eastman's involvment just put this on my radar from a previous state of total apathy, interested to see what he'll do with a chance to start over.

Hopefully the Mirage reprints will actually stick this time, its utterly ludicrous that a series of its significance has been mostley out of print for almost 20 years.
