So I just read the Rom issue. Don't really see the Evangelion.
Yeah, the backpack thing, looks like it's taken from Evangelion, it doesn't even fit the rest of the body to be honest.
The Dire Wraith Hawk, looks like a crudely drawn KO Venom. I do like the concept of it using the blood of victims to grow wings.

The EVA like concept art, yeah, I see that totally, but it's not just a head, the entire body is different from the actual in book one.

There's even one that's just a more detailed version of the original design, with actual hands.

Story is OK, it's just a preview comic designed to give you some idea of the series proper. I'm interested, but I'll probably wait for the trade.

Scott Pilgrim Gets it Together 7/10

Didn't leave a lasting impact and read quickly. Fun but felt bland at times. The art really stuck out as repetitive and odd this time. Still shocked this series takes place in Canada and did so well. In the writing class I took in college, I was told never to base your story in Canada.

Dogs: Bullets and Carnage volume 1 6/10

An enjoyable follow up but was bland and lacked plot and character development. The artwork is excellent, it easily portrays chaotic fights while remaining clean. Loves its overexaggerated expressions and tends to break up the flow. Regardless, it was a lot of of fun.

    Ultimo volume 3 4/10

A messy but quick read. Nothing noteworthy. The art is difficult to follow. Very well paced despite the large amounts of text.

I... I think I played this dungeons and dragons game...

Tons of fun. Wit, twists, and a bit of the old ultraviolence. Me like.

    Saga #36 - 10/10

    Finally caught up :)
    Hazel and Marko's
reunion was pretty heartwarming. I was a little bit surprised to see
    Klara staying at the prison
    and
    Petichor's
    announcement that
    Alana's pregnant.

    Bleach #678 - 6.5/10

    RIP
    Tensa Zangetsu
I have some mixed feelings on this chapter and given the reveal about the true power of "The Almighty" I'm not quite sure how the protagonists are even going to win at this point.

    The Flash: Rebirth #1 (2016)
    9/10
The art was a bit meh, but great intro to the new Flash series overall.

    Green Lanterns: Rebirth #1
    9.5/10
What a great way to set up a space version of Lethal Weapon.

Still haven't read the Batman Rebirth issue yet...

Dark Night: A True Batman Story - 10/10

I've been wanting to post about this one for a couple of days now. I absolutely love it, but I also don't feel like there's much to be said about it. The writting is fantastic and drew me in for every second I was reading it, but the art is nothing special.

I would definitely recomend this to anyone who grew up watching Batman The Animated series. Even more so for those who love Mask of the Phantasm, as the events took place around the time that was being written.

It's something people definitely need to read for themselves.

Just read the latest bleach and i'd give it a ten out of ten if you like dark no hope scenario book's because the manga has become very bleek , spoiler ichigo showed off his new power's and instantly got his ass beat and his power's taken by yhwach and he walk's off into some black hole while taunting anyone to come after him , i think the only hope is aizen .

A decent start for sure, no real complaints on my end. Takes my fave aspect to come from New 52 in the Court of Owls and puts my favorite character right into the middle of it all, it'll be hard pressed for me to not be a fan of this arc.

    Now go read issue #2.

I just finished it and I'm really digging this book right now. Loving the art, too.

    I guess I'd give it a 8/10.

I haven't finished Snyder and Capullo's run yet as I'm reading it through trades. Filled in some gaps and was fairly enjoyable.

    Batman #1: 8/10

Good start. King encapsulated what Batman stood for all in a very short time frame, all to be uprooted by the final page. Looking forward to the other two issues I have to read.

I've been reading through the Mid 90's Supergirl written by Peter David. I forgot how much I miss Mae/Matrix/Linda Danvers. I've never been a fan of Kara Zor-el.

I'll give Supergirl a 7.5 out of 10. There are a few clunkers in the 80ish issue run, but I can't deny that this run is one of my all time favorites from DC.

    Batman Inc. #1-8 + Leviathan Strikes: 5/10

So I'm approaching the end of my Grant Morrison run read through, and honestly at this point I feel I just don't get it. Yes, Batman & Robin 1-16 were absolutely fantastic. Yes, Batman & Son and Batman RIP were decent. But Final Crisis was garbage, Return of Bruce Wayne was an absolute bore, and now Batman Inc. is another really strange book. I appreciate how he weaves so much random Batman lore into an intelligible story, but sometimes it feels like it just shouldn't be in the book. Like at all. Man of Bats feels so fake, as do so many of the additions. I dunno. Scott Snyder's run is more straightforward for sure, but it's just so much better.
