Seeing as I only vaguely know the plots of The War Within, IDW's TF, or TF comics in general, I have no problem accepting The War Within as some sort of general backstory.
Transformers is always so full of continuity errors..and I ain't got no time to catch up with all of the comics, so I just replace it all with my own vague timeline. | |

Theres enough back story to rule this series out, I'm an avid follower of the IDW line and the IDWverse is not as bad as people make it out to be. Its not the best but they do "try" But I seen DW was more of an expansion of the cartoon series if you read this book: Transformers: The Ultimate Guide - Transformers Wiki
Yes Megatron:Origins was originally a DW story but it was put into IDW's continuity and serves as the DEFINITIVE origin of Megatron. Much like "The 13" will serve as the definitive TF origin story, whenever that book gets done.

IDW's Optimus was just Optimus before he bacame a Prime in DW he was called Optronix. This Optimus became a Prime after Sentinel Prime, in IDW Sentinel was badly injured by Megatron and we got a Zeta Prime after.  | |

#27 | | Quintesson Join Date: May 2008 Posts: 665 | Definitely not. War Within was the only even remotely decent thing those hacks at Dreamwave produced (and yes, I know it was Furman that wrote it) but it clearly doesn't belong in the IDWverse.
In my opinion, modern TF comics have screwed up. That's why the Marvel UK saga (which incorporates all the US comics as well) is the greatest Transformers series ever made.
