I don't think so. He might be referring to how at the end of MA, Capitan Ape-Merica and the rest of the Invaders were revealed to be vampires. But Vampires=/=Zombies in my book.

In the Speedball special, the Red Ghost forces Monkeyball to take him to the apeverse. A different group of marvel zombies has limited reality jumping tech. They're only able to get to the apeverse because they locked onto them. It ended with them about to be attacked by the zombies.

The Gruntline special ended with the Gibbon, his girlfriend, the new 616 Ape X, and Gorilla Girl, getting stuck in the zombiefied apeverse.

The Prime Eight special starts a little bit after the end of Speedball, and some of the gaps between it and Gruntline. It doesn't show them, but the zombies mention that Monkeyball and the Red Ghost got away. Also, Silverback Surfer has a banana board.

I don't think it makes sense at all. It doesn't explain how the virus began in the first place. We know Sentry "began" the Marvel Zombieverse, but where did the real virus come from? Basically this is what happened:

MZ Sentry -> infects alternate Marvel Universe -> surviving MZ characters get transportated to an alternate reality -> they infect that universe and somehow MZ Sentry is transported to an alternate Marvel Universe which repeats itself

So where did the virus come from? Unless I miss something.

no, it didn't make true sense in where it came from...its a very cyclical deal between these two worlds...basically, the way its setup, one wouldn't exist without the other...its like the time travel theory about going back in time to be your own dad...or something...i liked it alot more then 3 or 4 though...but i really hope they leave the zombies alone for awhile...i'm just over it now...

I just collected these so apologies for the delayed feedback and ditto on Lumpy's take. That's the point: the virus came from itself. They basically wrapped it up by the making the start and ending of the plague into a continuous loop, hence what The Watcher meant by containing it. Thats what the whole schpeil with the 'never began' dealie was about, so now the events in the MZ continuity are locked in an unending loop without the threat of further expansion. Or something.

I kinda think from the plague's POV its basically a situation like in Groundhog's Day Not exactly the same thing, but the effect is that the plague is trapped in a cycle it can't escape from. The Watcher's kind of the dick actually.

Actually, think of it like in the Terminator movies. The Terminator going back actually propogated itself, just like the zombie virus. I think its called a time paradox or something.

I kinda loved Marvel Apes, and was okay with the Zombies showing up. Now, while the Evil Evolution book may not have been perfect, and the resolution was really kinda convoluted. However, Evil Evolution has this going for it: It is full of Super-Zombies fighting Super-Apes. As such, it reminds me of why I love superhero comics again.
Ah, the daily dose of Spiderus Prime. It does a body good.

Actually dude, zombies and talking monkey owe more to genre comics than cape comics. Cape comics are more conventional/restrictive in nature, its no wonder the writers who successfully flesh (pun intended) these out have indie background (generally speaking).
