At least, I don't. The reason these threads pop up are because people are sick of IDW and the treatment they give to this property.
Why did we need All Hail Megatron? What was the point? To tell a story about how Megatron is a badass for, as far as we know, conquering one city on Earth and failing to hold it from the Autobots?
We needed a whole freaking year to tell that story?
And another 4 issues to fix the mistakes they did by trying to retcon and then changing their mind halfway through?
To build up a mini-Universe that had promise only to throw it all away for a story about Megatron talking to Starscream for 6 issues in All Hail Megatron?
I dunno. I don't understand exactly what IDW was trying to do with All Hail Megatron, and I still don't. I don't understand (other than $$$) why they canned Furman's storylines. I don't understand why they can't get an artist, stick with an artist, and be done with it, instead of changing them in a hot-potato fashion.
I re-read some Dreamwave stuff last night. Their Volume 2 of the G1. In one issue, I felt more had happened than in 6 issues of IDW's stuff. Even though I knew the stories, I kept reading because I was excited to re-read it.
Nothing IDW has put out gets me excited to see what happens next. If anything, it's that morbid curiousity ... like staring at a car-wreck. You don't want to, but you do it anyways, and then you cringe as expected. Quote: |

I don't think IDW did Furman, McCarthy, or their readership any favors by forcing it on us the way they did.
If we were actually treated to the Dead Universe saga as it was intended, then AHM might have been a nice component title.
There are many, many inconsistencies between the framework of Furman and McCarthy, but Furman's Megatron would not defeat the Autobots and then just blow crap up in New York because he could.
Furman's war seemed so much different than that -a battle of resources with protocols for engagement.
Not only were there robots in disguise, but fake humans as well.
It was so interesting -but ultimately unexplored. Xbox Live :Adam Smasher |

It was so interesting -but ultimately unexplored. | I pretty much agree. AHM could have been very fun to see it develop on its own as the alternate tale it was planned as. But more so than anything, I just wanted to see the world Furman set up fully realised... even if it was by somebody else's pen. But no, they just completely dropped it. And in the process, they dropped the ball. The new ongoing isn't exactly instilling me with any confidence, either. |

It's going to take a lot of effort for me to show interest, though I have some ... a new take on Transformers would be nice. Furman hasn't had it in years, and McCarthy wrote himself out of the franchise in my opinion. Quote: |

We don't need ten different covers of the same book for that either. Ten different covers for ten different comics would be more like it |

I have lost interested in the TF comics of the last few story arcs but I'm curious how did McCarthy strike himself out? |

Of course that could be misconstrued on my part.
