Best superhero book on the shelves, I hope he stays dead for a few more years.

I was at work, and I read about it in the newspaper a month before it happened.

I think I laughed.

I was on the computer, and when I went to Captain America, and found out he was dead, I was in shock for the whole day.

I was taking a big dump in a Burger King bathroom, when some screamy fanboy ran in crying about it....

*looks at the computer's clock* It was 11:14, Central time on Nov. 18th, 2008. I was scanning the comic book sub-forum and saw this thread.

I was at work, then shot to the local comic shop to pick up a copy.

Even though it was a typical Marvel "gimmick", I must say it has been (and continues to be) one of the best-written storylines in recent history. So, even though you know they'll eventually find some way to bring him back, it's worth the read because Ed Brubaker is THAT good.

Now, if you want to talk shameless gimmicks by Marvel, look no further at their lame attempt to bring Captain Marvel back from the dead (sort of). The "Death of Captain Marvel" graphic novel is one of the greatest stores ever, and for Marvel to try and bring him back just reeks of desparation for more sales. Joe Quesada is running that place into the ground.

I think I was at home on the Internets when I found out. I miss Cap, but Bucky has done a good job.

OMG, he changed his signature for the first time in years. Miracles can happen.

Steve Rogers is dead but Captain America lives on. Bucky has done a fine job of taking up the legacy. It was pretty inspiring at the end of the storyline when people run up to him and start calling him "Cap".
