This is wayyy off in the future.

Now this is a story that makes sense... Cool fights, some cool moments and a WTF moment involving Lex Lutor's hair lol

They are fighting a psycological war with superboyprime. The 3 people who have really given him trouble are Ion, Bart, and Connor. We have 2 out of 3 right now with 2 issues to go and the Braniacs are only on stage two. Still wondering how they will get his memories though. Well if they can go back to when Luthor was a kid....I suppose they can go back and come up with something. This may Finally get the titans back on track. But if they keep the current writer and team line up I doubt it.

But I dont think it's the Titans that will be getting Kid Flash and Superboy back...
How does Superboy and the Legion of Super-heroes sound hehe

Good story and a lot of things are finally starting to come together. Not as confusing this time either, although I'm still having a hell of a time keeping track of characters during the huge fight scenes (frequently wondering "is that one of the Legionnaires or one of the LSV characters?") and which Legionnaires are from which universe (I've got the Brainiacs, XS and Gates down, but that's it). Perez's art was excellent; even alternate versions of the same character end up looking unique. The only problems I had with the story were minor:
- For all that build-up bringing him in, Sodam Yat sure didn't do much when he joined the battle. Hopefully, that'll change in the next issue.
- Similarly, the other two Legions still didn't do much this issue either. They show up about halfway through, get a little bit of screen time and then mostly fade into the background for Earth 0 Brainiac 5's info dump.
- Be interesting to see whether the death of...whichever alternate Sun Boy that was...is just an isolated incident, or is setting the stage for a "kill anyone who isn't from the Silver Age" bloodbath next issue.
- I was also hoping Johns would come up with a more original explanation for why XS and Bart "belong" to the Earth 0 Legion than "dimension-crossing time travel", but it's good enough.
Kind of too bad this is basically a bi-monthly miniseries now, though; I'm really looking forward to the next issue. |

Just seeing my beloved ZH Legion charging back into action made my day (especially with LeViathan at full size - seeing her shrunk in issue 2 made me fear she wouldn't be growing). The issue definitely needed far more Triad, but the ending almost made up for her lack of screen time. Seeing the multiple versions of all the characters teaming up with each other was really cool, especially the Ultra Boys. Pity about Threeboot Sun Boy - hopefully he and Karate Kid 2 weren't the first of a long list of casualties.
The only thing that annoyed me was the pointless retcon that XS and Impulse were from the original Legion's universe. I don't really see any reason why they had to do that. The huge amount of space devoted on Sodom Yat was a bit of a waste, too, in my opinion - I know Johns is working on Blackest Night, but leave the Legion book for the Legion, okay?
Great comic - almost enough to make up for the incredible insult that was last week's LoSH #50. Hope we don't have to wait until May for #4. |
