What is your favorite comic book quote? Mine I just mentioned in another thread. It is from the Spiderman Civil War tie (The Amazing Spiderman #537) in where Captain America is talking to Spiderman. Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world — "No, you move."
That's a good one. Sums up Cap perfectly and is actually inspiring in real life. I can't think of any right now but at least I can appreciate yours. I remember there was some really great things said in the Watchmen..
Ghost Rider Vol 6 2008: Johnny Blaze to the Warden of a prison who believes it's doing God's work by abusing his power. "You read the Bible much Warden? You should give it a try. I've just started getting into it myself. You know how many people God killed in the Bible? I mean if you Add up all the floods and plagues and fire 'n brimstone. All the "God Smote" this, "God smote" that... you know how many people he kills? Millions. And what about the Devil? The big, scary Devil. What do you think his body count comes to? A paltry ten. The seven sons and three daughters of Job. And that's onl after making a bet with God. Look it up. Kinda raises a big question, don't it, Warden? Between Heaven and Hell.... Which one should we really be afraid of?" Special mention: Saga of the Swamp-Thing # 21 Woodrue's opening narration: “It's raining in Washington tonight. Plump, warm summer rain that covers the sidewalks with leopard spots. Downtown, elderly ladies carry their houseplants out to set them on the fire-escapes, as if they were infirm relatives or Boy Kings. I like that.”
Yeah, I remember laughing for days after that "Letter on my head" line. Scottish writer to the French: ZING!
From the Injustice comic, Harley Quinn plays therapist to Lobo. "You have a lot of pent up anger inside. It's time. It's time to talk about your feelings." "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO-"
Saga #13 "Just a moment, and I'll transfer you to my claims adjustment supervisor. Your name again?" "The Will. As in loosing mine to live."
"Mogo is here, fellow Lanterns." There are ever so few sources of back-up better than the sentient planet with ultra willpower-ring abilities.
