So the crossover is the Joes participating in the SF tournament? That seems... silly. There's no one in either the Joe or COBRA factions who can take on even the weaker SF characters hand-to-hand, other than *possibly* Snake-Eyes, Storm Shadow, or the other Ninja Force characters, and even then, SF being unarmed combat takes away 80% of their threat, unless they're going to "Arashikage Mindset" their opponents every time or something. In this setting, Roadblock, Gung-Ho, and Baroness are a bigger joke than Dan. I love the Baroness, but Rufus would wipe the floor with her with zero effort whatsoever. Croc Master? I don't think so. I don't remember him ever being shown to have any martial skill.

Now this sounds less like a merging of the franchises, and more like the GI Joe universe characters becoming fodder for the Capcom characters. Unless they severely nerf the SF characters, which would also be unsatisfying.

But whatever. I'll still look at this.

 

Big Boa Vs. Balrog should have been a no-brainer.

Crimson Viper vs. Snake Eyes - Snake-Eyes
Hakan vs. Roadblock - Hakan
Ryu vs. Jinx - Jinx because Ryu was holding back

The Joes are barely holding up. Hopefully Round 2 will be more interesting.

 

The whole point of Ryu is that he wouldn't hold back. The entire point of the character.

Reading the interview... looking at the art... eh, I'll pass.

 

There is likely some kind of plot element involved, Ryu probably had some reason. Tough to say based off a brief six word synopsis.
