As much as I love my collection, I need to move a pretty large chunk of it.

The bad part is it's almost all 80's into the 90's. I got some pretty large runs in there and there are still a good number of issues that are worth more than a few bucks, but overall I might cry if I try and move it as a whole.

For the most part, you'll be lucky if a comic shop offers you more than a nickle a book. If you have key important issues (first appearances, etc.), you'll do a little better, but still take a huge loss overall if you bought the books off the shelves new.

If you have runs in good condition, your best bet may be ebay. It's way more hassle than selling a collection as a whole, but easier to sell lots than a bunch of individual issues.

What about that pouch guy that's just got a new toy and a movie soon? In fact all those pouch guys are getting popular ain't they?
I was a kid, nothings in any condition I reckon. I know I read them over and over again...

I recall there being a Botshots figure named ROM on display, but I was under the impression that figure was not released. Is that the toy you were talking about?

Secret Wars #8 is not the first appearance of Spidy's black suit.

The black suit first appeared about 8 months eaqrlier in The Amazing Spider-Man #252.
    maybe more then many think.

her First appearance was in the UK Captain Britain series, issue #8 1976
her first appearance in a U.S. marvel book was New Mutants Annual #2 1986

Those were the only ones I could ever find online when I was prowling for the run. Yeah, idw have reprinted Marvel stuff before, I know that, but they don't own the character, Hasbro does and they would need to sign off on it.
Again, I'm not saying that the series will rise in value, or be super expensive, just that it has the potential to become more valuable.

    No.
They released a super limited convention exclusive (and fugly) Mighty Mug thing celebrating the character's 35 (?) anniversary a while ago, about a year after the BotShot was shown. And part of the buzz they had about it was that they had plans for ROM. then a while after it was reported that Hasbro acquired the ROM Trademarks for TV, Cartoon, film, and toys and games.

So they do have plans for him, or had, no idea if they're going to act on them, but my guess is they'll be testing the waters with the idw comic.

Well, here's great news for you, in case you didn't know: IDW has a sweetheart deal with Hasbro right now and has for the past several years.

I know they seem to have a sweetheart deal at the moment, to the point that it almost looks like they want to move together and make sweet sweet love. Just pointing out, that Marvel and Hasbro don't seem to like playing nice. Remember the awful Transformers Classics reprints missing material because Marvel and Hasbro didn't want to play nice?
And with the old ROM comic, 95% of it belongs to Marvel, so if Marvel doesn't want Marvel characters showing up in a Hasbro product, well then Rom's going to be standing around in black nothingness talking to himself.... wait that would be amazing to see XD
Plus I like being pessimistic, that way I can never be disappointed, because I'm either proven correct or pleasantly surprised. :D

Personally, I am optimistic because IDW seems to have a decent business relationship with Marvel. They've long since worked out the issues that prevented the issues involving Spider-Man from appearing in the Classics TPBs. I feel that Marvel and Hasbro will most likely be able to come to a mutually beneficial agreement.

And I now have to search for that Mighty Mugg.

Yeah, the old version from many years ago.

Flash forward to the present, and no such problem now exists. IDW has done new collected editions of the entire Marvel series with all the Marvel material and characters... Spider-Man, Circuit Breaker, everything.

IDW has also reprinted a SHIT ton of Marvel stuff, just in the past couple years: Spider-Man, Daredevil, Thor... where have you been?

Why are you so obsessed over this? What about me saying Rom might rise in price should his comeback make a splash offends you so? Why ignore the part of my last post that makes it clear that I'm not taking this serious?
Did someone rape you with a rolled up Rom comic, or his action figure?
Chill man, it's only an ok comic printed on worthless paper, it might raise in price when idiots decide to treat it as an investment, it might not.
It might gets reprints, it might not.

    So yeah, chill dude.

Yeah, that's all I said. But if it doesn't, it won't be because Marvel doesn't get along with IDW, since anyone who does read comics can see the dozens of times Marvel agreed to let IDW reprint full books of Marvel's mainstream bread and butter comics in the past couple years.

Idw has been doing full reprints of Marvel's bread and butter characters since the time they did the original Classics reprints.
And while we're at it, so does Dark Horse. In fact Dark Horse even does DC collections, yet we're not getting a reprint of the Mask and Batman crossover.

Lol, "anyone who'se actually been reading comics would know", such passive agressive insecurity.

So why say what you did? Why make a big deal out of Marvel "not playing nice", when clearly they do? It's just weird. If you go into a comic shop even semi-frequently, you must see all these giant hardcover books reprinting Marvel comics but published by IDW. Like 13" x "19". You can't miss them.

Oh I go regulary, in Germany, my local shop is too small to have everything from the US, so that stuff is for order only, and then only three months in advance (stupid supplier rules).
I have seen the reprints in the Previews catalog, as I already stated, if you don't know what that is, it's Diamond's catalog. And I flip through that pretty much every time I go, and due to my doing of that, I've seen IDW's Marvel reprint HCs and artist's editions, back when idw was doing the terrible incomplete classics collections. So there is precedence.

On top of that, what about "Plus I like being pessimistic" do you not understand to be humorous?

So next time you try to be all insecure and passive aggressive and think going to a comic store makes you some sort of elite class of person, stop, use your reading comprehension and think before you wag off about it.
But oh no, someone posted an opinion online you don't agree with, so that guy is an idiot and totally never even seen a comic in his life.

It looks more like you need to, since you're the one who insisted on making such a big deal out of it.

Lets get back to the fact that at the end of the day comics from the last 30 years are pretty worthless.............
