As seen in the recent Marvel comic ORIGINAL SIN, Uatu the Watcher, a space sentinel and an integral figure in the Marvel Cosmic universe, foresaw his own end: he was attacked by a psychopath who took his eye, which contained the secrets of the universe. When Nick Fury came to investigate, Uatu forced him to kill him and take his other eye, as he had no other way to help Fury stop the maniac (it was a gamble that worked out as seen here: Who Killed The Watcher? (Part 8 of 8) - YouTube). But what now? Is Uatu gone forever, or will he be able to come back? His death has caused major repercussions across the Marvel universe, so to resurrect him may be difficult (it'd demean the consequences his murder had wrought on Marvel). But on the other hand, his getting killed off, while well-written, is a little too close to the upcoming deaths of the Fantastic Four. The Four were able to introduce Uatu, Dr Doom and Galactus and the Silver Surfer to Marvel, so I worry that Marvel may bring the axe to Doom and Galactus too. I don't know how the matter stands. Personally I think Uatu is an interesting and intriguing character and would love that he make a return.
If Magneto can return from some of his Crazy Deaths then yes. Also the Watcher is a cosmic being so there are easier outs.
No, no. A serious question, I assure you. I mean if it was normal Marvel it would be a given that he'd return eventually. But with the issues with Marvel and Fox (Uatu belongs to Fox, right?) I wondered if they'd keep him dead.
Uatu isn't important enough of a character for Marvel to go out of their way and kill off because of FOX. If anything, Original Sin was more about getting rid of white Nick Fury, so they could call Junior, Nick Fury without the Junior.
What's the point of putting spoiler in the title if you spoiled beforehand? Everyone comes back in Marvel, except Uncle Ben. We love you Ben.
Have they ever given a reason why everyone can come back from the dead except Uncle Ben? Not that I want Ben alive...since that defeats the purpose of Peter becoming Spider-Man but doesn't he question why everyone else is able to come back except him?
Maybe if Unca Ben has super powers, then maybe. The rule is everyone that is a hero or villain can come back. Civilians are the only characters that stay dead. But it's comics, a story about Uncle Ben coming back is a lot less interesting than a story about Norman Osborn returning from the grave
I recall a time when they brought back a parallel universe Ben and basically he turned on spider-man because he just wasn't the same man normal Ben was. I remember if completing the "well, we resurrected all those guys we said we wouldn't and now they're evil" trifecta of bucky, jason todd, and uncle ben. Looks like they might be teasing a return for him AGAIN soon.
Marvel 616 is starting to remind me of the Earth X universe. Female Thor running around Steve Rogers is an old man now Uatu lost his eyes when they killed him, so if they bring him back, will he have his eyes back? Or will be be blind like he was in Earth X?
I think I read this recently, was it Identity War, the Hulk, Deadpool, and Spider-Man annual crossover?
It's been said that the only people who remain dead in comics are Uncle Ben, and Thomas and Martha Wayne. And even they've come back at least once.
