I didn't see a thread about this… I have to say, I'm liking Spider-verse. Not a fan of the mystical significance being put on Spider-Man but other than that getting a good kick out of it. Loved the fight between Superior and Amazing in the most recent issue.
Oh yeah, I'm looking forward to when SpOck finds out that Parker isn't his younger self. Anyways, loving Spider-verse. Alot of interesting things going on and characters. Hate to see some, maybe even all, of these characters go. With the death of Spoiler Cosmic SM, who seemed unkillable in his own universe, really gives no hope for the Spiders. I was under the impression that the Scion was Miles. I thought Spider-Verse #1 was going to be something else other than just another Edge of Spider-Verse issue. It seems like Spider-Verse is a tie-in, while everything else are the main issues. Its usually the other way around.
I eagerly await the trades, although I do own the Spider-Gwen issue and enjoyed it as well. I'm just waiting for Supaidaman (the Japanese Tokusatsu hero with a giant robot) to arrive; Dan Slott promised he would show up. It would be great if he teamed up with the Spidey from the contemporaneous 70s TV show.
I own the issue with the old animated Spiderman. "Action iisss his reward." But I eagerly wait for the collected omibus.
So one thing I'm curious about. We seem to have a distinct lack of symbyioted Spiders running around. It would have seemed to me THAT would have been a fairly common variant; he kept the symbiote.
Yeah, I was expecting a few variants on the Spider-Carnage, Spider-Man with the black costume and any number of the video game variants. Really enjoying Spider-Verse, for two separate reasons. The main Amazing book has been really good, loving the interaction between the Spider-Ock and Spider-Man. The ancillary side issues are awesome because I love getting a look at the various Spider-Men, some new and old characters. It's good stuff so far.
Is there a universe where Peter didn't make a deal with the devil? I bet if there was, Slott would kill him horribly.
Slott said a week or two ago that theres plenty more spider-men to come, I could see a bunch of Symbiote spider's turn up for back up or something. Really liked the issues that showed different versions of people to get bit. That one who turned into a spider and ate his uncle and stuff, urgh.
COMICS: More Spider-Men Fall In First Look At AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #12 Look at all those stuffed and mounted heads. Freaky.
While I am enjoying seeing all the different Spiders work together, I have to say that the villains are extremely unoriginal and over-powered. It would be nice to see some actual conflict. The most enjoyable thing for me so far was the showdown between Superior and Amazing.
SPOILER WARNING! You'll Never Believe Who Returns In AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #12... Spoiler Hiya, Uncle Ben.
More importantly the emissary of hell has finally arrived. Toei's Spider-Man & Leopardon Join Spider-Verse! - Tokunation Also, I didn't realize the small gray spiderman from that multipart cover was the other Japanese Spider-Man.
I was expecting that Spoiler "Old Man" Spidey to have been Ben, not Ezekiel. I figured Ben would've shown up eventually though. I was expecting another Silk as I was reading that issue though aha
I found that hilarious. Man Dan Slott could fill a few trades with all sorts of random Spideys battling Morlun and his family. Man that link is all sorts of clickbait. They don't even sort of appear. That said, I like how Slott poked fun at the movie-verse Spideys for always losing their masks. Also, yay for married Spidey!
