NYCC '14: 'Spider-Gwen' To Get Ongoing Series

That's sweet!   This is a good move on Marvel's part since she's getting to be VERY popular with people.

 

This is totally deserved.

 

I'm right there with you. It's nice to be happy with Marvel on something again.

 

Well cool I guess.

 

It's what we all wanted since the Amazing Spider-Man films. And it's ongoing? Sweet.

 

Well, I certainly missed some recent stuff in comics. Alternate universe Gwen Stacy is a Spider-hero? Rad.

 

I swear its just a mater of time before they bring her back in the 616 universe. Honestly i feel like they are just dieing to do it.

 

Hell yes I loved her Spider-Verse issue!

 

I'm all for it, I loved the issue featuring her! I'm just hoping they can get Jason Latour and Robbi Rodriguez back for the new series!

 

No comment on the character or series one way or the other...but wouldn't that superfluous hood on her costume get in the way a lot? I would think that a costumed superhero involved a lot of fights would want their peripheral vision as clear as possible. And I realize the Scarlet Spider outfit had a hoodie at one point but, far as I can remember, Ben Reilly never had the hood up when he was flipping around fighting crime.

 

Who needs peripheral vision when you have spider-sense?

 

Anyone who has ever worn any mask can tell you that ANY mask kills your peripheral vision, if you try to bring super-hero costumes into the real world.

 

so, I wonder how the interaction with the 616 Spider-Man will go (or with Silk, the so called Spider Bride, you don't think Slott plans on remarrying Peter, since Quesada isn't EIC anymore?) since Gwen has been long gone in Main Marvel

 

"Arrow" must drive you crazy then.

 

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing 616 Spidey's reaction, not to mention the rest of the "team" considering most of them are also Peter who in one form or another might have lost their own version of Gwen.

COMICS: Spider-Gwen Series Officially Announced; Jason Latour & Robbi Rodriguez To Return

 

This is a series that I could definitely get into. I'm a fan of Gwen as a character, and a title focused on her would be great. Even an alternate reality version of her. I'll likely get the first issue, and then stick to the trades as they come out. Like I'm doing with the new Thor.

 

Good to see Latour and Rodriguez are back for the ongoing! That's definitely a huge plus for Marvel! Hopefully they can resist the urge replace them with bad fill-ins when the time comes for it and instead give it a proper send off.
