And that's DC's problem right there in a nutshell. They're trying WAAAY to friggin hard to create diversity and not just having it happen. They're making what seems like a big deal out of things like this and the Batwoman thing. With so much forced effort, they're just going to drive people away from books like this.

Celestial Archer looks like a leftover from the "Green Arrows from around the world" bit from the 60's.

I wonder if DC knows that the Chinese government actively seeks to squash down those who believe and celebrate "the old ways" of ancient China.

There are some people in western China who still call themselves part of the Han dynasty, even though it ended some 1800 years ago.

That makes these pro-Socialist anciently-dressed Chinese super-heros an oxymoron in themselves.

What you say is sad, but true. But so far, I guess DC is playing along with China's recent policy of reclaiming the "old tradition and culture" that was spat on and destroyed during Mao's Cultural Revolution.

Well, that's how I interpert it.

Plus, if the characters wore only Socialist clothing, I would find it hard pressed to distinguish them from former USSR fashion.
