In a classic case of history repeating itself, 20th Century Fox has moved their 2007 superhero sequel Fantastic Four 2 off its 4th of July release date to June 15, two weeks earlier, presumably to get away from DreamWorks' Transformers, which laid claim to the holiday release date last year. Click here for the article on ComingSoon.net.

Sucks that their movie comes out sooner rather than later, by a whole two weeks when filming has been done for ages at that point and all that's left is film-editting and sound synching?
Yeah. Totally sucks. :p

This will the second time the F4 has lost their coveted marketing for the July 4th release date. Interesting.

Talk about a lack of faith in your own movie.
"Shit! We won't make as much money going up against another movie with a bigger named director and studio behind it! Let's change the date!"

Marvel just would rather release it eariler so they get a spot at number one instead of going up agaist Transformers which appeals to the same people and be shafted to number too. Them being number one for at least 2 weeks makes them look better on paper then number 2.

I'm sure the marketing department is thrilled. You know they had some Fantastic 4, July 4, blahbittyblah campaign, ala ID4 :redface2:, that they're not going to get to use again.

That seems to make the most sense to me.

I wonder how Marvel feel about not having the TFs comic lisence now with the movie coming out?
Probably don't give a crap...

Queseda's a dick.:D
And whatever gives Transformers more of an advantage, I'm all for. Even though I have my doubts about how the movie will turn out, if it sucks but does well, the better chance of a sequel that may be done right.

That's good. Because I want to see both movies in theatres and not at the same time. I've read the FF comics for almost as long as I've been into Transformers. (Mid 80's) The first FF movie was pretty good, considering they had to make it for a mainstream audience, as opposed to just comic book people. I just know people are going to be bitching left and right about the Transformers movie..
So yeah, I wanna see both movies.

That's right, F4 bitches, get your own F'n weekend. This one is ours.
Of course, if '300' comes out that weekend, we'd better move. I mean, it's Frank Miller AND Thermopylae; nothing can beat that combo...nothing.

:)
If I were a F4 fan I would say in response to that a witty jpeg featuring a perplexed reed richards and the letters "O RLY?".
However, since I am a humble/non-F4 fan, I leave that privelige to one Doctor Doom on these boards if he so chooses. :D

I liked the first F4 Movie, and am supprised the sequal is comming out so soon. :) Still watching both, but my heart belongs to TF!

Haha, couldn't agree more. Quesada's one of the main reasons I am now first and foremost a Transformers fan and no longer a superhero fan.

true, number 2 doesn't look good on paper or anywhere for that matter, in fact it looks as bad as it smells.

Aw, poor widdle Fantastic Four movie franchise had to get away from the 4 July release again. And once again, I won't be seeing a FF movie. Sorry, but the gazillion trailers on TV and in the theaters (even AFTER the movie had come out) were enough to keep me away from the first movie.
Transformers, on the other hand, I'm cautiously optimistic about, and I'm glad they snagged the 4 July date first. It'll give me interesting to do that day instead of driving 250 miles to another boring, pointless family barbeque followed by sweating and swatting mosquitoes while trying to watch some cheap fireworks shows put on by Middle-of-Nowhere, Oklahoma. The next 14 months can't fast-forward fast enough! :D
