I get that Bay needs to portray the military in a positive light, and I have no problem with humans putting up a spirited, well organized, and somewhat effective fight, but ultimately we need to get our asses kicked by Megs and the boys.

Take this for an huge grain of salt. I am traveling down there in three weeks for work. I will be staying in Alamagordo, NM (~5-10 minutes from Holloman, ~25 minutes from the White Sands National Monument) where I have been told from people I work with who live down there that there is a run on hotel rooms due to a film crew staying there. May be nothing or coincidence (my bet on coincidence). But it would be cool if I was down there the same time some filming was going on.

Given that the interview with Bay mentioned a scene with lots of sand and Scorponok, it does seem to hold true.

This gives me hope. I had being very skeptical all this time, but the recent news we've been getting (as long as it's all true) makes me excited to see it more than ever. I figured everyone would be realistic vehicles as far as transforms go, but if they're going to have anyone who's not a real alternate mode, I think it's awesome t hat they decided on Scorponok. He'll add much more menace to the movie as compared to them decided on Dinobots or something, Scorponok will give the Decepticons a good advantage. Plus it's a scorpion in the desert, right? That's perfect! I like the "Beetlejuice Sandworm" thing that had earlier been described too. If I only had a time machine...

Im going out on a limb and putting G1 aside and seeing it as a new line of toys seeing as people are saying it's to early for Scorponox to be there
Im saying it s great and put aside the whole Headmaster and Powermaster thing and thinking Scorponox could very well be a smaller version of what we know him as and also have a new paint scheme
and he could be the Leader of the Insecticon race that hide inside him when he is in base mode who end up becomming Decepticons.
You got to remember one thing Bay and Murphy are basing the film characters off Generation 1 it don't nessecary have to be a exact copy of the Generation one line howeveryou can by all means use it as a solid base and rewrite some of it to fit todays standards
They are trying hard to keep the Fans happy a whole new range of kids excited and Hasbro happy by making such a great film the toys sell.
Like most fans you have done what i have done and introduced Transformers toa new age like i did with my 6 year old nephew and let me tell you im going to see this with him and enjoy buying a new Optimus prime together like i did 20 odd years ago with my dad when i brought Jetfire and my brother brought Ultra magnus and the 3 of us saw the movie together.
So thumbs up

yeah sorry i was typing my thoughts and i have forgotten my school days on punctuation

This is a new concept buit on 20 plus years of history
so if we could forget the whole G1 stuff
and saying Scorponox is more then likely going to be smaller and updated and possibly a new colour scheme.
He could be the Leader of the Insecticons not a Headmaster.
Same goes for all the other Transformers sure there based off G1 but new colour schemes could be great
I however expect Optimus prime to be red and blue
and Megatron to be white but if hes a tank then Army camo
As i say its all based off G1 not a complete copy of G1
