A few things missing after board upgrade?

I'm also finding a hard time locating any ability to increase the thread count per page in my personal settings. I couldn't tell you if this was taken away or never added before, but I'd prefer to have a page setting with more than ten threads. (some are auto-set to 25 I notice, but it's not all over)

Yeah, the low thread count per page sucks...but I can see how it may be needed to reduce server load. This place is fast as hell now.

It may be my comp, but the smilies selector doesn't work...I'm using Firefox. I'll see if it works in IE.

EDIT: Wow, it doesn't even show up in IE. When I edit my post in IE, the edit window shows up IN my post, with no smilies.

Ok, when I reply instead of edit (in IE), I can see the smilies, but some are just red Xs, and apparently, a lot of them don't work.

Editing works like it should in Firefox, but the smilies window is still non-functional.

I noticed the selection of avatars are rather limited, with hardly a few G1 characters represented to choose from. I was wondering if more G1 characters will be added (like Devastator), as one selects an avatar in edit avatar option?

Everything is being handled with the upgrade.

Unfortunately, anything uploaded to the old board was lost. This means custom avatars and smileys.

You should see all the stuff I have to re-upload.

Uhh...Avatars are now DOUBLE what they were...not smaller

and post counts are viewable in your profile

I tried to use my old avatar straight from photobucket and it said the file was too big. I had to reduce the size of the pic to get it to work. Maybe because its a gif file. Oh well. Maybe its time to choose a new one anyways.

Okay, that's odd. For me, the first option is the e-mail and password box and the second option is the optional information box, starting with the birthday. There's no "custom user text" option for my profile editor.

I'm not seeing the 'custom user text' dealie either. What's more, my old one was still intact until I added some of the other profile schtuff and when I hit save, the old one disappeared and now it says Senior Member.

Just a suggestion...Would it be possible to have a Information spot for the Buy/Sell/Trade Forum for the sellers and buyers? With this information spot pretaining to where they are from ie Canada. US, UK, Austrailia, etc. This would help in people estimating shipping prices and custom charges if there is any.

It's a feature I'm not planning on using anytime soon, and it would be nice if it was much like the collection count info, which doesn't appear with the user info if one does not enter in anything in the user CP.

Alright, first point: profiles. It's cool to have profiles, but I don't really like that being the only place for info. What I'm particularly ticked about with the new format is that my post-count isn't displayed under my avatar when I post something. Also, in the forums themselves there aren't enough threads posted per page, and the threads that are posted are far too narrow. It's a lot harder to scan down the page looking for what you want.

Quite frankly, I don't really see WHY the boards have to keep changing every few months. I really liked the old old old forums and I had finally gotten used to the previous format and now they go ahead and change it again. Can't something that's already perfect be left alone?


I understand that upgrades are necessary every now and then due to software and such, but does the format have to change DRASTICALLY with every upgrade?


Basically what I'm saying is: don't fix it if it ain't broke.

Yeah, that kinda bugs me too. I'd rather see post counts. A Junkion Score means nothing to me. Not everyone on here sells stuff on Junkion.

Hmm... I think it can be rather discouraging to newbies to be surrounded by 10-20Kers, and postcounts encourage some people to post garbage to "catch up".

An indication of who mods what forums other than the footer link on the main index might help new users.

Wow, six pages and no one else has mentioned it, so maybe I'm a complete tool, but why, since the upgrade, no matter what I set my Options to, I no longer get emails on threads I'm suscribed to. I pretty much live by those emails since I don't spend much time on the boards during the day at work and I use my email to find the threads I picked up during the day. So, unless I've missed something obvious, I think auto-emails on replies to threads I'm suscribed to don't work at all.
