I wonder, if in typical "movie" game fashion, if this will get released on all the platforms??

If it's as fun to play as the Transformers Armada game it will be a sure winner. :D

At this point, it seems only an EXTREME situation will stop the film, a game company wouldn't announce a big license like that unless they were sure it was coming

I hope that unlike typical movie game fasion, it doesn't completely suck.
Unlikely. I suspect that this happens so frequently because money that should have been spent on development is blown on acquiring the license.
This TF game also has the barrier of being only the second TF game that was better than "blah." (the BW game for the PSX wasn't terrible... but certainly no better than "blah")
Temper your expectations, folks. You have been warned.

My Smokescreen - I forgot how much joy you brought to conversations.
Let's remember, a movie tie in game is never meant to be great - that's a side affect that's wished for. It's meant to sell and promote the license. I'm honestly surprised Activision got the license for this, but I'm hopeful it will be as good as Armada was - which was a fun game to play. There's certainly more characters to incorporate in a movie game and more backgrounds, so this should be a fun romp.
I at least hope they'll have the sense to hire Melbourne House for the job, considering that they made the Armada game.
But imagine: A TF game on the PS3. I'll play that just for the graphics alone, and I'll even buy it if the gameplay is good! ;)

Yes a tape deck! Now you can pick the tracks and dance along to Trans-Dance-Revolution!
That would make the game awesome! NOT.

The PS2 Transformers game rocked. In fact I still play it. If this one is up to par with it, it'll be great.

Come on, who didn't like playing with Soundwave in the Takara G1 game?
....Oh, right. :confused2

The PS2 game was awsome. Add Multiplayer and G1 characters to a similar engine and we would have a great game, expectations tempered or not. And the Beast Wars games sucked....What you talkin' about Willis???

Yeah the news on Gamespot was just in their rumor section. The confirmation was from the Activision show yesterday.

Come on, G1 Tatakai!
That be a way to save some cash. :) Port the Tatakai game and slap a "The Movie" label on it. Instant money maker! :D

What's sad is that I'd prolly buy it, but not until it was bargain. I heard that game is really really bad.

Sorry, but I have to agree with Smokescreen. Movie license games are rarely very well done, and frequently just plain stink. I have not played the Armada game, but had not heard very good things about it. It sounds like it was fun to goof around with, but not a very high-quality game. I don't expect much better here.
I have to agree that it is "expected" that movie tie-in games will stink--but I don't feel it should be that way. Any game company should take some pride in their product if they want to be successful. Making something pathetic and taking advantage of the film's popularity to sell it is not only bad business, it's underhanded. Just shows they don't give a darn about the customer and they're only in it for the money. Pretty disgusting IMO. I'm disappointed they didn't award the license to someone with a better track record of making high quality games.

Not me.
Activision has done Call of Duty and X-Men Legends games.
It should be good.

Activision has had a decent library of games lately, including the Xmen and CoD franchises...
Hopefully this will be released for PC.

I need a transformer game on GBA, DS, or PSP. There is no way in hell they can make this movie and not put it out on a handheld of some type.

Eh? I haven't played it yet either, but I've only heard good things about it. It seems that most people think it's excellent.
Anyways, nothing too suprising here.

They also made Fantastic Four.

Let me reiterate - Activision is just the publisher. Insofar as doing a good job on this is concerned, I'll wait until a developer is announced (and yeah, they could do a lot worse than find out if the Armada team is available, now Melbourne House is but a memory).
They also made Fantastic Four.
Which is a factor to cause grave concern; yet another weak, over-hyped piece of crap masquerading as a videogame. :thumbdown
They could always put Treyarch on it - Optimus Prime Pro Skater, anyone? :lol
