Hopefully this is new news, I know that this is the first I have heard of the US release.

Fantasy VII Due On U.S. DVD?

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, a movie set in the universe of one of Square Enix's popular Final Fantasy video games, may be released on DVD before the end of the year, according to a post on the Digital Bits Web site. The news was reported on the GameSpot.com site.

The movie has previously appeared at the Venice Film Festival in Italy and on DVD and UMD in Japan.

According to the post, "It's taking a little extra time to work with the director to get all the supplemental elements finished, but the title is on track for release sometime later this year." Mike Stradford, an executive at Sony's DVD division, is cited as the source of information, the site reported.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children has sold hundreds of thousands of copies in Japan on both DVD and UMD.

Last I read it was having a March/April release in the US. Course that always changes once the date gets closer.

It's been delayed twice in less than six months. The first of such delays took place less than a week before its "release date" which was supposed to be in mid-September.

Anime News Network reported a release date of March 28th back in November, but I predict another delay. Especially with that "by the end of the year" comment.

Its hilarious in that this is out in Japan, and has been for awhile. I always laugh when i watch it because Cloud sounds like "Crowduu" and Sephiroth sounds like "Sephirooss" in japanese.

animeondvd.com jsut reported a rumor that this may not hit the states until late 06. I hope it's not true.

I was in Suncoast yesterday, and they gave me a date of March 28th for that movie.

I work in a game store we had 11/28/05 and 1/16/06 and then nothing. I believe Best Buy has 6/1/06 right now. As it stands I don't think anything has even been announced.
