Which IP do you think they are working on? I'm hoping for Fighters Megamix 2 but my money is on Nights or Burning Rangers.

Come on Streets of Rage!
I'll agree with that statement, bring on a new Streets of Rage!

Streets of Rage was abandoned for that ass kicking Die Hard Arcade game which was followed by some launch title for the dreamcast whose name I don't remember, but I could see why sega might want to revitalize the franchise.

I kinda doubt Sonic Team would let a U.S. team do NiGHTS or Burning Rangers. Streets of Rage seems possible, as does Shinobi or Space Harrier. We haven't seen Wonder Boy, Kid Chameleon, or Alex Kidd in a long time either.
I would buy a system for Streets of Rage alone.

It'll probably end up being the new Vectorman game they were developing.

Alex Kidd needs to die in a pit of terrible bugs and creepy crawlys that eat flesh.

A shame it's not a new Eternal Champions game. Streets of Rage wouldn't be so bad though.

2D for the win!
Get an awesome animation house to do Cels and go from there. This must be done or furious justice will rain down from the skies to smite those who do not comply.

I kinda doubt Sonic Team would let a U.S. team do NiGHTS or Burning Rangers. maybe not, but sonic team is always doing sonic projects and they did let an inhouse US team work on Sonic Xtreme and again with an external developer with Sonic Shuffle. Sonic Team hasnt even touched the NiGHTS or Burning Rangers properties since their initial releases. If ST doesnt want to do Nights than maybe they should just incorporate him into the Sonic Universe.
Dynamite Detective was the Jap name of Die Hard Arcade and the US name of the game that would act as a sequel to DHA the successor to the Streets of Rage franchise.

Sonic Team is both a USA and Japan operation.

Sonic Team is both a USA and Japan operation. OK No part of sonic team worked on sonic xtreme and yuji naka even prevented its developers from using a ST 3d engine for that. Sonic shuffle was done by a 3rd party.

Xtreme was being made by STI, the US team who made Sonic 2.
The sad thing about it is that the game never happened because the head of Sonic Team and the Sega Japan suits acted like dicks, which ultimately deprived the Saturn of a game that probably would have done it allot of favors in the early days of its life.
Legend has it that one of the developers almost worked himself to death on the game, literally.

Sonic 2 was co-developed by Sega Technical Institute and Sonic Team. Members of Sonic Team were flown to the United States to work on it, including Yuji Naka, if I'm not mistaken. Word has it he absolutely hated working with STI, which might explain his attitude toward Sonic Xtreme. Ironically, Sonic has never been a Sonic Team exclusive franchise. Sega has even formed other software divisions with the name "Sonic" in the past. I suspect that Sonic Team resents that, especially Yuji Naka, who seems to have a reputation for being a bit self-important. That's why I think something that is a Sonic Team exclusive is going to stay that way if Sonic Team has anything at all to say about it.
Incidentally, I remember reading on Sonic Team's home page (during the initial release of Sonic Adventure 2) that Sonic Team very much wanted to make a sequel to NiGHTS, but was adamant that it wouldn't happen until they knew they could both do the original game justice and add a significant amount of new content and gameplay. In other words "we want a sequel too, but we refuse to just put out more of the same with new graphics." If anything, I'm hoping that the new gameplay possibilities offered by the Revolution controller will inspire Sonic Team to finally make that sequel happen.

Interesting fact(?): I hunted down Yuji Naka at E3 200x (can't remember which year) and got him to sign my Dreamcast version of Phantasy Star Online. He look horrified :lol
