Thats because even from a retail or marketing perspective they are never really considered playthings. The figurines usually fall into a murky realm between wank material and collectables (ESPECIALLY considering the female figures).

Somehow there is a LEAP of difference between how some figures are marketed and how they turn out. Like this recent Cos Mos figurine who whas basicly a whole other item when it came out.

I usually use Hobbylink Japan. You have to be quick about it though, pre-order everything you really want -because the good stuff disapears fast.

Nice. The price for both really isn't that bad considering it's cold cast. Heck I've paid more than that for a couple of PVC figures. Hope you end up getting them. Good luck.
