Yes! Season 3 was my favorite Digimon season. 1+2 are classic but 3 just has such a great plot, story, characters, and Digimon. I'm really happy, for a while there I thought that maybe Digimon was done for.

Agreed. Season 4 got so lame. They killed a supposed Big Bad so many times just to have his boss step out from the shadows.
Heres hoping that they use Season 5 to fill the big plot hole of Season 3: What the hell was up with that broken Zippo the government guy kept flicking?

If I'm not mistaken, in the Japanese version he actually says why. I believe it's what he does instead of actually smoking. Some people replace their smoking habbit with something else to help keep them off it. So whenever they get the craving they do that instead.

The description for the show even mentions it's the old characters. I really hope they actually use Kenta and Kazu for more than comedy. One had a friggin mega level angel digimon for crying out loud!

I wonder what kind of new forms the digimon will have. Maybe they'll use the DNA evolution like in season 2. If they use Ryo, Kenta, and Kazu, that'll be 6 digimon. So it's not out of the question. They might try the X evolution thing from the manga though. X evolution seems most likely, but fusion wouldn't be out of the question either. Maybe both?

yeah thast why when Hypnos collapses, Yamaki(I think thats his name) smokes a cigarrete and the girl who likes him says something along the lines "werent you trying to quit smoking?"

I dunno. I really hated the card gimmick of the show. I prefer the older series' myself. But it is cool that it'll be back on the air and mabybe bring some new kids into it.

Personally, I loved the card gimmick. It made the kids actually useful in combat situations, beyond "I'll make you uber powerful with my sheer force of will!". Gave them something proactive to do other than cheerleeding from the sidelines.

It would be kinda cool if they used the X-Evolution style for the Digimon, to complement the decidedly more mature take on the style of the show. Actually, I just want to see Gallantmon-X in full-animated glory.

What is the X-evolution?

In a recent(ish) manga series, there's some massive virus outbreak in the Digital World. In response, champions arise amongst the ranks of the Digimon, and use what is known as the X-Antibody to modify their code and protect themselves against the virus. The antibody manifests in the Digimon by making them look more fierce. Sharper claws, longer teeth, jagged-looking stripes, etc. Guilmon in particular gained a slightly more raptor-esque physique, although still unmistakably Guilmon. Agumon gained blue Greymon-esque stripes, as well as the aforementioned teeth and claws. Higher evolutions like WarGreymon and Gallantmon looked more "techy", with sharper, more angular designs, segmented/layered armor plates, etc. Freakin' awesome looking, in other words.

I used to know a site with a small gallery of a lot of the redesigns, but it's been dead for awhile now, unfortunately. Here's a pic of Gallantmon-X that I had saved, though. Pity I've never been able to find a bigger one.

Ok, time to clear up some misconceptions.

The thing about it being a Tamers sequal is unconfirmed, most likely spiraling out of how a lot of the people who saw the pics at one forum have said that they have a passing resemblance to the Season 3 characters. In truth, all we have is a title for this, and the concept art that appeared in the Japanese magazine.

We have NO word on the plot, NO word on what the digimon are like, and NO word on whether or not this is a continuation of anything. That web-site is just jumping onto a lot of speculation.

Oooooooo, interesting. Those aren't X Digimon, but they aren't normal Digimon either. Wonder what they are. I also think those IPod looking things are the new digivices. Not bad, but not great either.

Digimon was (and will hopefully continue to be) one of the best written kids shows of all time, because it chose to deal in a mature manner with tragic actions and consequences, and did it well in every season.

Plus, I can't think of any other kids show where the monster designs seem directly inspired by GWAR and acid.

We have a plot!

But even better, the scans reveal the plot, and the names of the characters! Masaru is the main character, and he's in the second grade of junior high (and apparently, he's never lost a fight). His father was a leading researcher of the Digital World, and now he's gone missing. DATS is a secret national organization calling themselves the Digital Special Investigation Corps (presumably, there's some translation of that that can be acronym-ized into DATS) that Agumon has run away from. He and Masaru meet up and so on. The last sentence is confusing me a bit, but I believe it says something along the lines of Masaru and Agumon and DATS are causing and solving problems, but the real truth of the matter hasn't yet been made clear...
