I don't know how many of you have seen this, but the remake fever that sweeps Hollywood doesn't stop. Here take a look :

Yeah, I saw the preview for this in the theaters. It made me roll my eyes and laugh.
I mean, at this point, this release of "Miami Vice" is nothing even close to a "remake." It's, in essence, a completely new steaming pile of Bruckheimer-esque bullshit that will keep the Top-40 kids rolling in for about 2 weeks. Calling the film "Miami Vice" just means that it'll reel in maybe, say, an extra 2 million over the film's proposed earnings.

Miami Vice was one of the most successful and influential TV series of the 80s (and one of my favourites). The movie's also directed by Michael Mann, who directed the original series. Mann is a VERY talented director; Heat was a remake of one of his own films, and it was unbelievably good. I'll reserve judgement until I see it.

Don’t forget Strangers on a Train; The Shaggy Dog; Charlotte's Web; The Pink Panther; Porky's; Rock and Roll High School; Posidon; The Warriors; Curious George; and Police Academy and from TV The A-Team: The Movie; Dallas; The Munsters (Starring Keenen Ivory, Shawn, and Marlon Wayans because we need more of Keenen forcing his lest talented brothers on us); I Dream of Jeanie; and Knight Rider are all in the works also.
From what I have read about The Warriors the gang trying to get home is the only thing it will have in common with the original . It’s not even going to be set in New York, they are moving it to LA and forget out the Baseball Furies they are only using “real” gangs. And Rock and Roll High School? Who are they going to replace the Ramones with? Blink 182? Thank you no.

At least they didn't turn it into a comedy, like they did with Starsky and Hutch.

With all these remakes when are we going to see a remake of Knight Rider?

On the subject of bad remakes. Did anyone see that ridiculous remake of Bewitched (with Ferrell and Kidman)? One of the worst movies I have ever watched.

Police Academy
To be fair, as far as I know, it's not a "remake". It's another sequel. It's got most of the original Police Academy actors with the notable exception of Tackleberry. (RIP Tack) Hell, even Steve Guttenberg is back, and I don't think he's even been seen in Hollywood in 15 years.

God I miss Guttenberg

I must agree.
The closest thing to funny in that movie happened on "Family Guy" when Stewie punched Will Ferril for that Clippers fan joke.

I think a remake of The Warriors, with The Last Dragon spliced in would kick all sorts of ass with Busta Bus as Sho'nuff the main antagonist. Can you dig it? Can you dig it? Can Yoouuu Dig IIIITTTT?

It might be goo we'll never know until aired.
Still think no one will ever be as cool as the original Sonny & Crockett.
Wonder if they'll have a 'Crockettes theme' remake?
Still listen to it.
I could get into it though, since I already kind of like CSI.
Not sure about the A Team, would'nt be right without MrT

I would like also to remind the rumors about Jim Carrey being the Six Million Dollars Man. :puke2:

I think Mann can pull this one off. At least he's doing and not someone else. I think it looks pretty good from the trailer. Sawyer from Lost should have been Sonny though.

Hollywood has run out of ideas..
the Munsters are now black? Why? You don't go and make Good Times or The Jeffersons white, so why take things like the Honeymooners and make them black? Not racist or anything it is just pointless.

I really don't like the direction Hollywood has taken with these remakes over the last year. Trips to the theatre is scarce as long as these pointless remakes are coming down the pipeline. I am really curious as to how they are to remake Knight Rider after the last prime time NBC movie Knight Rider 2000. I may be disappointed in the idea of remaking Knight Rider. Next thing we'll be seeing are remakes of Gentle Ben, Grizzly Adams, The Flying Nun or even Flipper being considered.

I was wondering about that too You don't go and make Good Times or The Jeffersons white, so why take things like the Honeymooners and make them black? Not racist or anything it is just pointless.
I dont think its pointless. Its Probably to give minorites more jobs in hollywood as minorities dont have nearly as much visibility there as whites. It looks pretty bad when almost 75% movies featuring blacks or hispanics feature them in token roles of nearly no relevence(ie usher in both "the faculty", and "shes all that") or portaying, negative stereotypical roles. White to minority casting decisions in adaptations and remakes are probably made so that x minority is in a meaning full role (see The Shawshank Redemption, charles angels and Man on Fire).

or even Flipper being considered.
Flipper was done in the mid 90s, with Paul Hogan of Crocodile Dundee fame.
