I've already got my Tifa, Sephiroth, and Vincent figures, so when Cloud gets his spikey ass out there, I'll be a happy little bugger.

Although my true excitement won't come to pass until Squall's gunblade-toting self gets released.

I remember a little while ago in Toyfare, they said that the US release of Cloud was delayed so they could sculpt a more accurate head.

Glad that he'll be released without Fenrir. I probably can't afford it, but I'd like to get it.

Either way, he'll go nicely with the Tifa I just bought.

It's a new head and sword included in this version. That's Cloud's complete sword, in the movie it splits into six (dunno about the toy) but the Japanese version only came with one of those, the big sword that seems to be the base the others connect to.
Squall looks awesome too. They really need to get these out faster though, and make more of them. It's not like they're likely to run out of popular characters. Just looking at FF7/AC they could get all of Avalanche in their FF7 and AC outfits and they could do a few with their KH outifts too, then there's Reno, the Turks, Rufus, Zack. Hell people would kill for a Zack figure. They could do Vincent as a Turk, Cloud in his Shinra grunt uniform, Vincet's good limit break forms. I'd buy them all. They could even do weapon packs, who wouldn't buy an arsenal of swords for Cloud or different gun arms for Barret?

I don't know about all those different variations, but I am digging the weapons pack idea. Although you do know that the new mold with the full version of the buster sword is one with the hand fused to the handle, so you can't have the sword by itself. And the sword does not come apart.

Maybe you're right about the variations, having all the different versions would probably only work at the six inch scale, like Marvel Legends.

Okay, I wanted him already, but when it looked like his combo-sword was merely a one-piece fascimile, I wasn't that excited. But this, holy crap. This is the regular release, and not some limited-edition add-on pack, right?

At one point, I might have questioned how it would be humanly possible to lift such a monstrosity and have it be an effective weapon, but the Last Order OVA pretty much cleared that up for me (having not yet seen Advent Children, waiting for the NA release).

I can't tell from the pic. Will the combo-sword be released with the regular Cloud, the one with Fenrir, or both? I'm thinking both so there would only be one mold for the US release of his weapon, but I still want solid proof.

I dunno what's going on at all to be honest.
The original Japanese version had a different head and came with only the base sword and Fenrir didn't open.
The western version has a new head and came with the combined sword, but there where no pictures of the split sword or Fenrir opening up.
So, I'm just as lost as everyone else. I've emailed BBTS to find out if the one they've got up for preorder is this latest version. If it isn't I'm canceling my order, I want the coolest one.

Looking closely at the picture, I believe that this Fenrir and Buster Sword is something else all together, all the pictures that I've seen from Diamond never suggested that the swords separates, and from the picture, it's clearly plastic, whereas the pic above they seem to be metal, it's also split on the top, and the diamond pictures shows no splits
