It kind of was. She had a similar name I think more to pay homage as they weren't sure if Gwen would really appear in the movies.

I'll reserve judgement on Grace as Venom until we see some promotional shots or something. However, I do think that they may be getting in over their heads with this movie. I hope they have it well thought out. It seems like Sandman might be the main villian, so I hope that Venom and Harry(if he becomes a villian) don't get shafted too much.


In regards to Venom: If it were up to me, I would rather have Spiderman discover the symbiote suit in this movie. He could struggle with the negative effects the suit might have on him and in the end get rid of it. In the next movie Venom could show up. Unless Spiderman isn't go to wear the suit at all I would think that it would be a little difficult to fit the whole story in one movie, especially when there are 2 other villians that need lots of screen time.

I've always kind of liked Venom, so I was looking forward to him being in one of the movies. I just have a feeling he's going to be a secondary not-so-important villian in this movie.

Not that I question the usefulness of Gwen in a Spiderman movie, but shouldn't it be Gwen in the first movie, then MJ appears in either the second or third movie?

Eh, sounds like they are trying to jam more Spidey-mythos into this movie than they need to. That is unless one of the villans is a 5 minute kill at the beginning of the movie, possibly before the opening credits.

On another note, the blonde girls name in Spider-man 2 was Ursula, (http://uk.imdb.com/name/nm1033193/). From what I remember in the comics before Peter married MJ, he lived in some studio flat, and he had 3 neighbours or something that fancied him. I assumed Ursula was supposed to represent that.

Actually the organic webshooters were from James Cameron's treatment of the Spider-Man script years ago.

He thought that how come a kid could invent something super-adhesive, that dissolves after a few hours and was strong enough for someone to swing about town on but 3M couldn't.

When it's put like that it make sense in my opinion.

They’re cramming allot in to Spiderman 3 just like X-Men 3. But I’m not worried because Raimi has proven himself to be a great storyteller, not just in the Spiderman movies but in every thing he does. X-Men 3 on the other hand I’m very worried about, Ratner doesn't have the best track record.
