View Full Version : Transformers Movie Video Game Rumor - Activision To Produce?

MCV is reporting that Activision may have obtained the rights to produce a video game on the upcoming Transformers movie. However a spokesperson for the US publisher stated: “Activision does not comment on matters of rumour and speculation”. You can see the original report by clicking here. While this is obviously still a rumor, it would only make sense for a video game to be produced on the Live Action Transformers Movie.
Thanks to Seibertron for the news.

The Armada game was decent, but I'm still hoping for a really stellar, definitive TF game. Activision has the potential to pull it off...Gun was pretty damn cool.

A movie game would rock but before saying anything I want a confirmation and pics. :D

I'll be waiting for the disclosure of the "top US studio" before anything else.

I wouldn't be surprised since activision does a lot of movie to game adaptations. The bad thing is almost every single movie to game adaptation is crummy.

Also, Activision is really just a publisher. For example, Gun was made by Neversoft, and released by Activision. So game quality really depends on the actual developer. Movie games are historically bad, but there are really good ones too. King Kong, most of the LOTR games, Star Wars Battlefront.

Ah, Activision...I remember when they released a TF title for the Commodore 64, back in 1985 or thereabouts, for truly, even then, it was a laughable piece of crap. :lol
Note to Activision - get it right this time. :thumb

activision makes some good games, some stinkers... the last several movie to game videogames by EA, however, have all rocked... I'd be in heaven if THEY got the rights

Could be good, could be horrible. If they get the actors from the movie involved like in Lord of the Rings then it should be at least decent.

Get Melbourne House back together, since they broke up after making the PS2 Transformers game. That's all I ask.
Activision? Hopefully after they make that game they should make a Tony Hawk game with Optimus Prime as a secret skater.

I don't know, at a game developers confrence I attended earlier this year there was a lot of "wink wink, nudge nudge" from the Atari Guys when I asked about the Transformers movie game license.
EA rocks. Eventhough it wasn't a movie, James Bond 007 Everything Or Nothing was so friggin' fantastic it would've made for a hell of a good movie.
They should do TFs.

One word for you... Catwoman
And I'm probably one of the few people not too thrilled with Activision as of late, so that wouldn't inspire me with confidence

Tony Hawks, the Spider-Man movie games. And has been stated already, they don't make games, they publish them.

They may not make the games, but they have a lot of say in the development process. SFC3 and Armada 2 are two examples I can think of that sucked because Activision got too involved in the development process.

Name a publisher that doesn't have a stinker and I will show you how to make dollar bills out of poop.

Ill be ok with anyone other than EA. They have gotten far too lazy and have released more and more unfinished titles lately that they refurse to patch for the consumers.

Damnit, you said publisher. Blizzard is a developer and not a publisher. But AFAIK, Blizzard has never made a bad game.
