Animal Crossing on the GC was amazing. My one qualm with it was being able to get home to check in on my town so stuff doesn't turn to crap.

Having it on a portable makes it that much easier to keep up with your town.

I just picked up my copy from EB and I am looking forward to getting home and diving into this one!

Well, my brother and I stopped by TRU and Best Buy today to buy 2 sets of this game for his daughters and our our niece but neither of the stores had them. It seems they didn't get them in. We want this game just for them to play online together. We're also getting Mario Kart DS as well.

Alot of places didn't get stock today, as expected, including Walmart.com. I know this because my Parents had me pre-order it for him for Christmas. I was tempted to order myself a copy but other titles jumped out at me. I can't wait to play Advance Wars: DS and Pheonix Wright: Ace Attourney.

I want it. But damn, I'm spending to much money on my DS. I picked up Metroid Pinball, not realizing Mario Kart comes out the next week. So I picked up Mario Kart, and played that. Then I had about $10 of Best Buy Bucks that was expiring so I picked up Tony Hawk DS. I am now addicted to that game. Metroid Pinball is getting ignored, but Mario Kart and Tony Hawk is taking up a whole bunch of my free time. Now I know I'm getting Mario and Luigi on my birthday, and I know I'm gonna like that. So that's going to be three games I'll be addicted to. Animal Crossing sounds great, but there's just no room for that right now. Maybe early next year I'll pick it up.

i would get it too...but with gil sending me a bunch of games (Mario Kart, Sonic, and possibly Mario and Luigi), i got too much games right now...plus i want to get Sims 2 too...so there is too much games that i want....

did i say that the PX here sucks....everythings like a month old (mags/games)

Each town only has one type of fruit. So your stuck with that until you get some other fruit from another town. I got pears from my girlfriends town and I planted four of them next to my house and now it's growing nicely.

BTW, any of you turned off your game without saving. Some mole yells at you when you restart again. I turned it on once because I wanted to sell stuff, but Nook's place was closed, so I didn't think saving was neccesary before turning it off. Dude yelled at me. Kind of funny.

Yay finally got a second shovel and a net for catching bugs. Only problem is I NEVER SEE ANY DAMN BUGS. Where am I supposed to find them? All I ever see are bee's stinging me for shaking their tree :cry
I see some fly off of rocks when you run by them. You have to move as slowly as possible to get them or they'll fly away. I hardly ever see bugs though.

You cna also hit rocks with the shovel to make the bugs come out. It may also be because it's winter. In the old AC game, summertime was to season to go bug catching.
Plus the shovels used to break unless you had a gold one. Not sure if they can break in this one.

I just got my golden shovel so if anyone needs a normal shovel I have 1 to give away or trade for something. Oh also are pit fall seeds used for anything? I tried to plant one but it didnt do anything by the next day.
You plant a pitfall seed then push or have someone walk over where it was planted. They'll fall in a hole. Basically the pitfall seed is a hole that looks like ground.

*edit* I have a bunch of those _____oid things. Those little tree stump guys that make music. I have a few different types of them. Stop on by if you want some.

Make sure coconut trees are planted near the shore, with enough room for the coconuts to fall when you shake the tree. You don't have to plant them completely in the 'sand', as long as a part of the whole you dig is on the beach area. Basically right along the meeting of the ground/beach.

Planted it in land, watered it ever day but it died while the other tress I planted blossomed.

I cried.

I am growing so many fruit trees in this one area. I just want to get some money, so I think that might help. My native fruit is pears, so I mailed a ton to each villager, and got a bunch of other fruit back to help me with my many trees. hehe

It's got 4 dead pixels on it. If it was one or two it wouldn't be too bad, but they are annoying. I have 3 on the top screen and one on the bottom. I got the Hot Rod red edition, so I would take it back to exchange it, but haven't seen one in stores for awhile, so I'll just send it back to Nintendo.

Not sure if anyone else is aware of this, but if you link your DS to the official Nintendo WI-Fi site using the instructions on the site, today Nintendo sent out a special Item for Animal Crossing, a Mario coin! I just signed up at 5:30pm Pacific time, Jan. 12th, and it still worked, but might wanna hurry as I beleive its a limited time deal. Once you follow the instructions on the site, just open your gate for a bit, then when you close it you should get the letter from Nintendo in your mailbox. Very cool!!! :thumbs2:

It didn't take mine long either, I left the gate open for like a minute, closed it, checked the mail and there it was. I read about this earlier on the official Nintendo WiFi forums. Apparently there are more of these Mario items that were available only in Japan, so maybe there will more to come in the future!

Does anyone know if the UFO appears in a pattern like the ballons or Pete? I've been playing for around 3 weeks now and I haven't seen it once. Also is there something specific you have to say in your letter to get non-native fruit by sending out native fruit, cause I send out a load of letters everyday and never get back fruit. :thumbdown

I saw the UFO once but it was to late to hit him as I was right at the side of the map before I noticed him. What is the pattern for balloons and Pete?

Present baloons appear randomly between 8am-4pm on time intervals ending in 4, say 12:14 for instance. Listen for the gust of wind. Even though i've read you start seening them as early as 8, I've only seen presents from 11am on.Pete delivers mail at 9am and 5pm, assuming you have mail to be delivered. I think seeing both may be weather dependant as well. For Pete I always send out some letters before 9 & 5 then stand up by your gate, he should fly by. I've shot him down 3 days in a row and he hasn't given mw anything yet, just gets kinda ticked that he's behind on his deliveries.

Have an upstairs now and wayy to many gizzoids or whatever they're called.

Wonder what your town layouts are like. I have a huge L shaped river on the upper left side of map.

Been sending all the natives beach stuff and fruit.
Do you all play by the rules, or nice when writing letters with the locals?
Been asking Angus for bells, Teddy for crack, Bluebear to deliver it, Deena for sex, Monique for 3somes with Deena, Bubbles to mow my roof and shave my Trex and a few more stupid letters and they all reply "Thanks" or "Ive been nervous" or "next week is my birthday" or "youre very kind" and lots of "Didnt have room for this anymore..."

They even dont take atomic bomb threats, hatemail or "Move away you dork" as being mean.

This game rules. Will have my wifi adaptor very soon (its in the mail)

You're actually visiting your friends town (or vice-versa), so you do get to see and chat w/ your friend while online.
And I believe up to 4 people can visit your town at the same time.

Well I finally saw the UFO today, but couldn't catch it in time. It deffinately goes faster than balloons. Saw it at 11:32, wonder if there is a pattern. Also I finally figured out the trick to getting your animals to send you foreign fruit. attach a native fruit to a letter that reads " I like you, send me fruit!" before I tried this simple sentence I had no luck getting back fruit, but today 4 out of 8 letters I received held foreign fruit! :D

Anyone have any luck getting a perfect town rating yet? I clearcut my town and seperated it into acres, but I still can't get it perfect. It's always either too few trees or too many, it's really
