Of course, this is only limited to what I have owned, but I have owned a bit since I started collecting, and also would like to hear your top 5!

5. G2 Optimus Prime (repaint of G1 Optimus Prime) I think this is an underrated repaint, and doesn't get enough cred. The mold looked great then (and still looks great today), and the trailer's scheme was appropriated for the times when things needed to look a little "edgier", with the black plastic and graphic decal. Even better, he came with a voice box and two missile launching BFG's!

4. Alternators Wheeljack (repaint of Alternators Grimlock) What else to do with an awesome mold with a fan-fav character? Make a repaint of another fan-fav character! Though technically a retool, overall, the mold is the same. Though different than Alt Grimmy, he's definitely not inferior!

3. Cybertron Excellion (repaint of Cybertron Hot Shot) A fine example of when you see a robot mode similar to a G1 character, and you hope for a homage to that character, and then Hasbro releases the repaint in that scheme. A great deco (and obviously mold) homage to Hot Rod, and in my personal opinion the superior deco to Hot Shot.

2. Henkei Starscream (Repaint of Classics Starscream) This one is a bit fuzzy about if it's technically a repaint or not, but since Henkei SS wasn't released at the same time as Classics SS (like all the other cartoon-based toylines), I'll consider Henkei and Classics as two different lines. This mold has surpassed all seeker molds that came before it (maybe not MP?), and TakTomy gave it a VASTLY superior deco (though the chrome is questionable) as it's painfully G1 (and I mean that as a good thing! :) )!

1. RID Scourge (Repaint of G2 Laser Rod Optimus Prime) This to me is the Grand-daddy of all repaints. I also own the G2 version, and vastly prefer Scourge's deco for the mold. Take a sweet mold, throw on some black and a touch of teal, and it's already an automatic win. Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention that the trailer is vacuum-formed CHROME! Even the fact that the headlights and fist (like it's G2 counterpart) don't light up never bothered me. This is the one figure I always get compliments on how "sweet" he looks, ESPECIALLY from non-Transformers fans!

Mine are pretty obvious:

- Alternator Hot Rodimus: as unrealistic as the deco is I can't help it but to feel that the mold suits the young hot headed bot more than the aristocrat. Sorry Mirage, at least you win at Classics.

- Alternator Wheeljack: despite the mold's headache-inducing transform I still love it. I'll take this over Grimmy anyday, the silver's tad too plain for my taste.

- Cybertron Longrack: take a good mold, remove the non-essential minicon gimmick, homage an obscure BW Neo character and give him a good head (literally). Pure win!

- Classic Devastator: as much as ppl hated this guy, he screams "Devastatorrrrrrr!" much better than Constructicon Maximus can, even with duplicate green limbs.

- Energon Tidalwave: clear energon with lightning deco > vomit colour scheme. Nuff' said.

1: Cybertron Galvatron - The repaint from a goofy multi-colored scheme for Megatron, to a uber pimped, changen' repaint. The repaint is flawless, and almost looks like chrome, this is what I call a "leap and bound" repaint. This figure almost looks as cool as a lucky draw! Easily the best one for me.

2: Energon Unicron - As much as I like the "classic" Unicron look, the darker colors goes with Unicron's personality and feel. Makes him look very EVVVIL.

3: RID Scourge - An improvement over the lazy color scheme, tacky stickers, and those "Optimus Prime" labels from the previous version of this mold. Scourge is bad 'n' black and chromed too!

4: Classics Skywarp- An abseloutely lovely repaint, easily the best color scheme out of all of the Classics seekers. Who knew black and purple could go so well together? :)

5: Hasbro Masterpiece Starscream - First I thought.... Takara MP Screamer is real but, I don't get it with that puke green-ish like color scheme. But that was until the Hasbro MP Starscream came into town. Now this is a great improvement over the previous mold, even though the Takara one is more "realistic". Like the difference between Cybertron Megs and Cybertron Galvatron, this is another one of the "leap and bound" repaints for me. Well, most of what I've listed are. Right?

5# Alternators Wheeljack
4# SDCC Nemesis Prime - This figure is impossible not to love, The Classics Optimus mold is great as it is but then to paint it in the colours of RID Scourge is awesome
3# Movie Deep Desert Brawl - Highly underrated
2# Botcon Black Rodimus/Henkei Wildrider - The black makes the mold look even sleeker and on account of Rodimus being one of my favourite molds in a long time; I'm happy yo see him in my favourite colour
1# RID Scourge - I got this guy a few weeks ago and he has surprised me so much, His Colours are great but I really disliked G2 Laser Prime but for some reason the mold is just made amazing by the colours.

There where a few runners up
Brave Max
Universe Side Swipe
Universe Treabolt
Universe Dirge (Cybertron SS repaint)
Classics Skywarp and Henkei SW, TC and SS
Classics Devastator (Although I'm sad he's not a new mold :()

In no particular order.

- Classics Skywarp. Best deco that mold has ever received. It's a pity we'll never see a version of Thundercracker that isn't just a copy of his G1 pattern.

- RiD Scourge. The black and teal Optimus has gotten horribly overplayed in recent years, but that doesn't detract from how amazing Scourge is.

- RiD super mode Prowl. I love this metallic blue and white version of the figure.

- Ransack GTS. Very sweet repaint.

- TFTM Premium Megatron. What the toy should've looked like the first time around.

Although I only have 41 figures, I've already been around long enough to see some fantastic repaints. Oddly enough, all of my favorites are from the Movie line. They arguably went overboard with mold reuses, but it brought us some fantastic toys.

Movie Overcast - I've loved black-and-lime color schemes since I was in kindergarten, and this figure already had an odd charm, so I absolutely adore it now. The dominance of the black makes it just plausible enough for a fighter jet, and there's something oddly alive about the single, transparent-green optic.

Movie Recon Barricade - Barricade was a great figure to begin with, and Frenzy was my favorite character in the movie. Frenzy being blue seems positively mischievous on the part of the color team, and the subsequent red Frenzy only confirms their intent. The new color scheme for Frenzy's bulk partner is also an homage, which only sweetens the deal. Even better, the new color scheme matches the police cars from where I used to live to a tee.

Premium Movie Blackout - The Premium series in general was fantastic, but Blackout stands out as especially realistic. From the desert-dust brown of his inner parts to the battle-damage streaks across his vehicle mode, he seems more photograph than toy. The new, shinier Skorponok included with him is fantastic in his own right. In my opinion, this is the best repaint we've had in years.

Movie Black Arcee - Although I don't have this figure, I can tell it's fantastic thanks to the photos on Seibertron.com. The Allspark blue detailing looks almost like tribal tattoos on her, and she just generally looks deadly and beautiful. Match her up with Stealth Bumblebee, and you have a beautiful couple.

Movie Nightwatch Prime - Movie accurate or not, I consider this figure to be a leaps-and-bounds repaint compared to the first Leader Prime. It's realistic, functional, and intimidating. It's even easier on the eyes, due to the low-contrast color scheme, and with a bit of red detailing it would make a wonderful Nemesis.

Here's my list, no particular order but it goes beyond just looking cool but also being clever and/or very needed.

Cybertron Cannonball - It's rare when a repaint can so drastically change the personality of a mold, here's an ambulance that makes a great transition into a villain, as a pirate the weapon hand fits perfectly and made for a great canvas for the skeleton deco.

Movie Big Daddy - When you make a figure look that much like Wheeljack and not color or name it Wheeljack, you shouldn't be able to repaint it into anyone but Wheeljack... but we got the most popular Micromaster instead. And wow, it was nice.

Tele Beast Wars BlackArachnia - So they do Tarantulas, and it's good. Then they do BlackArachnia, and she's nowhere close to show accurate with purple and green making most of her robot colors. 11 years after her debut, the Takara reissue line repainted her into long overdue gold colors.

G1 Skywarp - One of the original repaints, but still one of the best, black and purple became iconic Decepticon colors thanks to Skywarp and most molds it's been applied to have looked their best in his colors. (Still dont have my Cybertron Starscream repaint though... the Legends was too cool to not upscale)

RID Scourge - The evil Prime, he's become iconic enough to see repaints from a lot of Prime molds over the years, and the ones that weren't got plenty of fanmade repaints. While the original's colors are rarely replicated, with tan added or the translucent red removed in the most recent version, rumors are he'll be around in Universe next year.

It pains me to leave off things like Energon Galvatron, Movie Fracture, US MP Starscream, and some of the Henkei repaints but I'm sticking to my criteria!

Armada Nemesis Prime
RID Scourge
Universe Nemesis Prime (big convoy repaint)
SDCC Classics Nemesis Prime
Hybrid Style Black Convoy
SDCC Alternators Nemesis Prime

For another list:
Alternators shockwave/lazerwave/shockblast - it combined 2 of my favorite things - rotary engine based vehicles, and shockwave
Cybertron Excellion
G1 colors Ipod convoy
MP Skywarp
G1 Magnus (in a lot of ways I guess he doesn't count, but the addition of the armor is just a remolded/alternate trailer for the core figure which is a repainted optimus prime) - The addition of a combining trailer was revolutionary in a lot of ways
