Hey I was curious if anyone can point to the article I saw that someone had confirmation from Hasbro/takara that the clear prime and a few other "lunchtime" special figures were actually real prototypes

Was it either of these?

Toy Bender Blog Archive “Lunch Time Special” Optimus Prime Made Crystal Clear (http://www.toybender.com/lunch-time-special-optimus-prime-made-crystal-clear/)

EDIT: Credit should go to nkelsch as he posted these links in another thread.

Yea thanks...just cause im trying to part with a prototype clear colored prime I bought off a dealer and want to show some proof that points to it being a real takara/hasbro prototype and not some cheap ko. I have yet to see a clear colored prime ko. The one that was on ebay started off as a clear prime ko that was painted/dyed red and blue and became clear colored. The figure I have is MOuLDED clear color plastic.

I actually found those after reading your thread about your Prime :D

Good luck with your sale man, it's a rare valuable piece.

Yea i just gotta distinguish it from that *custom* clear colored prime that turned up on ebay not that long ago. Apparently some guy is taking a ko clear prime and painting it with paints that make it look clear red and blue. But it still has the clear ko clear tires.

The closest official documentation/explaination with references to the original lunchtime special op was discussed in Botcon 2005. Other than that its the usual speculation by fellow fans/collectors (even though sounds completely plausible, remains unconfirmed)
