Need Photoshop help :)

Hey guys, I was just wondering how you adjust the levels in Photoshop to make the backgrounds of your TF pics all nice and white :) I've built a photo box with white bottom, background, and side panels, and the basic pictures are pretty decent.

After that I know you're supposed to adjust the levels in Photoshop to make the backgrounds really white and just keep some natural shadows from the figures you take pictures of. I'm a total Photoshop n00b, so any help would be much appreciated!

Go up to image: then go to the brightness and contrast and fiddle with the sliders should help!

also use the shadows/highlights filter, auto-levels too.

Different shutter speeds on your camera will affect the white background brightness, so you should play around with that to see what works the best. I would also suggest using a curved white sheet of paper as your backdrop if you want to get a pure white background with no lines. Like so:

Easiest thing to do would be to create a mask to separate the foreground item from bg, and overexpose/fill the background.

Use a curved piece of paper as suggested and then play around with levels and brightness/contrast. You can usually get a pretty decent job just by doing auto levels and then amping up the brightness a bit.

something else to keep in mind is the camera itself. If the background isn't white enough, you can do a white balance from the camera to adjust it.

Also agree on curving the paper to remove the seam, awesome effect.

you can do replace colour to lighten all of the light colors in the image, also cut out anything you dont want to be affected ie. the car and put that on a separate layer

Do what Cata and llamatron suggested, then you won't even have to do much editing :)
