Hey everyone! Liam Shalloo's art contest is over and the results are in!
So, without further ado...
First off I Wanna say a big thank you to everyone for their involvement. Not an easy choice to make here. In each image there is something I really like, lol.
I really am tempted to pass some of these on.
I have decided however that EVERY image will in fact be coloured..... what a twist huh. However there can only be one winner. The winning image will be printed and put on display at conventions I go to starting with Auto Assembly here in the U.K. And who knows maybe I can get Simon and Geoff and the guys to sign it :P”

Truly fucking epic. The sheer scale here is amazing and the detail is superb. It simply captured everything I hoped for. I love the little detail here. My only crits would be I would have loved more interaction between the bots and for them to have faced each other. Awesome stuff though, love the angle the views positioned.

This made me Lolz so much. It just made me think ICONIC B-MOVIE poster, which I love. This was such a close second that I actually considered a joint first. This just oozes style and is absolutely perfecto. The only thing that it is missing is 2 things, first being unfortunately it just doesn’t have the epic feel I was after, second it soooo needs a speech bubble with the words. Oh scrap. I think this may work better as a cover then a poster

The very clean lines really appeal to me here. I’m a niggler for clean sharp inks lol. Makes it a joy to colour, guys like Guido and Nick are prime examples. I love the look on TW face, man he looks cranky lol. My biggest concern is that the body language just doesn’t have enough expression to me, I think a bit more exaggeration would of really sold it to me here.

I get a massive Geoff Senior vibe when I look at this. Very Retro. Who doesn’t love R&R. Whilst I really love the style I do feel that the body language just doesn’t connect well with me. It feels a lil stiff, however I think it has real potential here, and with lower angle and more fluid body movement it would be ace.

..... maybe I’m just immature but I cant help thinking that Tidalwave is trying to beat him with his crotch lol. This is a really nice piece, unfortunately it’s again just a lil stiff for my liking and the angle just doesn’t really sell the image.

I have to admit, this would probably get 4th place and could have been higher if it wasn’t for the background. I just can’t seem to work out the angle. Originally I thought it was a full top down view, which really intrigued me, I really love the style here, the softness and redesigns are ace. Tidalwave has really nice body language, just think Broadside could do with a lil more ompf.

Now I love the body language here, you've really sold that punch hard. My only problem here is that the background feels like an afterthought, with the exception of the trees. I can imagine it being so far in the distance though and with the scale you truly feel like your watching to Gods slug it out.

Again another clean crisp piece of art, there’s a lot of style here, my problem is again body language, it in all honesty feels a lil stiff and I just don’t feel like there’s much of a struggle going on.

Aaaawwww this is so cute lol. I really like this style, really stands out. The angle is a lil dull and could have really used some over the top booms and laser blasts.

Lol very hard to be impartial with you dude :P cause I was actually round ur place whilst u were doing this. This image does have potential but unfortunately I just feel that the body language is a lil stiff and Tidalwave’s arm just feels awkward.

Please mummy don’t hit me lol. Very unique look here and very nice detail, I like the boxy style but I don’t get a sense of movement and everyone feels a lil bit stiff, also the smoke really just doesn’t work for me.

Lots of very strong blacks here very nice style, unfortunately the water kinda feels to solid for me here, like snow or something, and as I just feel that they lack the PAZOW in there movement, Tidalwave is not really selling the shot and Broadside doesn’t look in any hurry to grab that boat.

This made me Lolz so much. It just made me think ICONIC B-MOVIE poster, which I love. This was such a close second that I actually considered a joint first.
