This figure is what grimlock should have been from the color to the chrome.
awesome addition to and grimlock or classics lover.

included in the packaging is now a collectors card for all the classics for the completists out there(myself included)similar to encore and masterpiece.

Heh, I was gonna say that the U.S. version puts this one to shame.

Chrome is nice 'n' all, but the number of different shades of grey and silver on Grimlock makes it lock like a KO, in my humble opinion. I much prefer the nice black wash on the U.S. release. The Henkei version's G1-accurate red chest is a nice touch, but that is not enough to redeem it IMO.

I'm glad that the OP is happy with it though, that's all that really counts.

The light grey/whiteish parts kinda kill him for me.
The chrome is alright and I like the red mid section and Autobot insignia.

I love how people on here judge a toy just by looking at some pics. I suppose said people also like to judge books by their cover and people by what they're wearing.

There has been plenty of Transformers that I've seen pics of online and I've said to myself: "Man....what a piece of crap that is!!" or "I don't like this or that or the other thing about it." Only to actually see it in the store or break down and order it and do a complete 180.

Don't judge Henkei Grimlock by some pics online. If you actually own it, you'd see what an unbelieveably awesome toy it really is. If you're thinking about getting it....you should.....you won't be disappointed!!

Also, for those of you complaining about the chrome: You must not like that true G1 look. Most of the G1 toys had a lot of chrome on them as well. To me, if toy robots can't actually be made out of metal then they should LOOK like metal. Chrome looks more like metal.

The lighter plastic on the T-rex arms and tail is what kills it for me. I like the torso though. I think both classics and Henkei versions have their strengths, but overall for me, classics is superior. Thanks for the review man:)

mirage is also a excellent figure but bumblebee is just ok.

starscream is way better with g1 coloring and decals

Yea, I have Starscream and Megatron coming tomorrow I can not wait. I did not know they added some paint to Grimlock head I was planning on getting this figure anyway. That is just iceing on the cake.

Not digging the different colored plastics, with the two shades of gray, in particular the light gray which looks even more out of place than the chrome.

That could look pretty cool. The Hasbro one has pretty much the same shade of gray. The chrome might not look so bad then.
