Hi,

This is my first post on this forum, I've been browsing here unregistered for a few months now, really enjoying all the creative energies, personalities and stories i've read. I've decided i'd plundge myself in the deep and throw you the first chapter of the story I thought up a while back.

Also.. I'm a complete Photoshop n00b.. so I'm kinda happy with what I did with these even if its just extremely basic stuff :D

Just like in the original cartoon.. I'm switching from one faction to the other.

Oh also.. I'm open to suggestions of any kind of course, how to improve this for you guys. I'm also looking for a name and personality for the "shell programming", I've been throwing around ideas for a few days now but I can't seem to decide on anything :(

Photoshop tricks are fine, i long to see how it continues... :)

Good start, but you shouldn't make Megatron's lines so small, it's distracting.

Oooh, very impressive start! Megatron is quite the unreasonable boss, isn't he?

For a photoshop n00b, you've certainly got the glowy FX down just right. And nicely done with the Decepticon emblem in the last panel. :)

Megatron's dialogue could stand to be bigger and clearer though.

I was actually hoping to post chapter 1, part 2 today (autobot side) but things got a little out of hand here so I had to resort to quickly whipped up low brow filler. Please note that it might be a bit harsh. If they offend/are against the rules I'll remove them :)

Nice start I like how Megatron just doesn't take any sh*t, and yeah larger text on Megatron. Split his text up into multiple panels if hes got a long monologue, plus you can use the separate panels for dramatic effect.

I'm always for a serious/plot driven comic can't wait to see what you come up with

Huh, quite a few questions running through my head here...

The speech bubbles are perfect now, the dialogue is good, and the FX is top notch. I'd say this is shaping up to be an excellent series of serious photocomics.

Thanks! :D Maybe those questions will be answered sooner on later ;) I'm following a stict "wing it" program when it comes to dialogue and characterisation (spelling might be off, just woke up). As long as it's all fits in with the pre-set story line arc, it's all good :D

Yesss.. I didn't notice that one :( I just janked it out with a pair of tweezers. Safeguard doesnt need it, he fits all VP's points without any problem or looseness.

Update: I kinda decided to give up a while ago. Though thanks to the arrival of MP Megatron I figured what they hey, I'll keep on going until I reach the end of the chapter..

It's proven (at least for me) next to impossible catch some attention with what i'm trying to do here while being a complete nobody. Figured I would've just give up while i'm ahead..

Eitherway.. Here's the (short) update.. I've had tons of trouble making it, My camera kept dying out and the bulk of the shots i've made we're completely useless as a result.

Mind you i've got just my desk to shoot pics on so backgrounds are extremely limited much to my dismay. Really need to clean up my room.. Too bad I can't be bothered ;)

Only three pages in and you're giving up for lack of attention? First of all, attention is the worst motivation for making a comic. You have to do it because you have fun doing it, because you have a story to tell, etc. etc. Second, people will recognize you more once you've kept a good comic going for a while. Incidentally, it looks like both your writing and photoshop skills are in line with the top tier folks around here. You could be doing a lot worse.

I totally agree with you. Maybe it's the perfectionist in me, maybe it's it's just frustration as comics started around same time shot up to muliple pages with seemingly no effort at all..pff.. I guess I'm jealous :redface2:

Definately do, I have fun shooting the pictures, trying to create a more seriously toned graphic story hopingly arching out to something on a more larger scale (as opposed to random quick laughs) such as Obsidian's Lament (which I really enjoy reading :bowdown: That's some grade A storytelling)

I hope so. I truely hope that more people will notice this (particular) type of storytelling and perhaps even enjoy or find themselves in the plans I have (Branching out to beyond just Autobot and Decepticon).
I won't agree with the last that you said. I feel that my writing, photographing and photoshopping (Mind you i've been diagnosed as a compulsive perfectionst ;)) have a lot of room for development. Thanks for the enormous complement though, it's a great morale (and ego!) boost.

Maybe I shouldn't have been so down in the dumps with some of my earlier comments. I appologize.

The one on Classics Megatron blast is fricking fantastic. Here is my 2 cents, (not that I am a photoshop guru or anything, there are ppl here who are more kick ass - read : Pun-3x, Dilazirk, Chaos Incarnate, Shane, Sycia, Bryan_too, CatacliZm1 to name a few) for Classics Cliffy, you might want to use a wider spread and add some white lens flare for more impact. :D

Hey guys,

No update just yet. I'm in the middle of cleaning up my room to make space to fight over ;)
Gives factions a proper base too instead of the same old desk rearranged differently.
So summing it up:
- The conclusion of my first ever fight scene
- Will Scavenger get the appriciation he deserves?
- Sub-factions!
- More on Optronix
- Taking it where you guys want it to go (guess you could call them spotlight comics)

Wow! Your last strip was awesomeness in images! I love the mini star wars figs, and it's a nice introduction to the star wars transformers. Boba Fett is just going to kick ass!
