I've seen Good Luck Chuck (didn't care for it), Feast of Love (better at the end), 3:10 to Yuma (satisfying), Resident Evil (passable), and the Game Plan (surprisingly enjoyable)...but what should I go see this afternoon? I'm thinking "The Kingdom." Any other suggestions for current movies?

Or We Own the Night. Or go see In the Valley of Elah. Or Across the Universe. Frankly, I'd have seen The Kingdom well before any of the others mentioned except maybe 3:10 to Yuma. But..I dinna get to go to movies much anymore. :(

The Kingdom kicks ass. A smart, well-paced, action flick. I'd give it 3.5 out of four.

I take it you've never seen The Dead Zone? Even Walken couldn't save that bore-fest.

Oh, and don't forget that cinematic turd eXistenZ.

When Cronenberg is on, he's one of the best.

When he's off, his movies suck shit.

So, I ended up seeing "The Kingdom," and enjoyed it. Then I rented Saw, which made me remember why I liked the first one so much. I also have Saw 2, which I'll watch tomorrow, and remind me why I wish they'd just stopped at one. I am looking forward to "Michael Clayton" and "We Own the Night," and am planning on seeing "In the Valley of Elah" tomorrow afternoon. Working for a theatre does have its privileges...especially on my days off. A week from Friday is "30 Days of Night," the week after that is Saw IV (which I'll see despite some misgivings," then American Gangster, Beowulf, and lots of other good stuff. September was a bad month for movies. I'm glad it's turning around again- at least until mid-January.

Saw owns your soul.

Until you watch Hostel. Then Saw looks like Winnie the Pooh.

Yeah? Said Cosby sweater helped attract my current smoking hot girlfriend. So I can't complain, it works wonders.

That's pretty re-enforcing! :lol

"So why'd you go out with me?"
"The sweater."
"So...it wasn't for me?"
"Don't push it."

I hated it.

The Dead Zone and The Cosby Show.

O.k., not really.

I liked The Cosby Show.

But on topic, In The Valley of Elah was a great movie, too. Depressing, but great. It was good to see Tommy Lee Jones acting in something that didn't suck.

The first Saw wasn't bad- it was actually a well-done, low budget film. The suspense built throughout the picture, as did the revelations. I'm even going to try to convince my wife to watch it, as she doesn't watch horror flicks. Hostel was bad porn. Hostel 2 was worse. I'll take the Saw movies over Hostel easily.

-Tony!
Laughed when Hostel 2 made about 37 dollars this past summer.

Hostel is pure garbage.
The first Saw was very clever, the second was okay it was kind of neat how they tied it into the first one. The third is pretty stupid on all fronts. So, it was that 106 pound woman overpowering all those men? Right... I don't care to see the fourth at all.
How exactly do they get all those torture devices? Do they make them? Do they buy them at Home Depot? Give me a break.

My wife and I are probably going to the movies this weekend. I wish 30 Days of Night was out already. How is 3:10 to Yuma?

And today's flick of choice was...In the Valley of Elah. I liked it, until the rather preachy closing scene. Ah, but I suppose the director was trying to make a statement.
