Spoilers ahead...

We open on Sarah racing to school. She busts in the classroom and tells John that they have to go. They exit the front and a pile of cops are waiting with their pistols ready. Cops arrest them and throw them in the back of seperate squad cars. Sarah looks out and sees a massive dude walking towards them. She headbutts the cop, takes his keys and heads for John as the big dude opens up with shotguns and uzis. John bolts for it as Sarah shoots big guy in the face, revealing metal underneath. Big guy shoots John in back.

Sarah runs to John, crying. Tells Big guy to kill her. She says nothing matters now. Big guy says "You're right. Nothing matters anymore. Only the boy. The future is ours and it begins now." Massive nuclear explosions, burns the skin off Big guy revealing... ta-da! A Terminator. He walks to Sarah, grabs her by the neck, lifts her up...

And she wakes up from her nightmare. Some guy wakes up next to her, asks if she needs water. They cuddle and study her new engagement ring. He goes to the bathroom, she studies herself in the mirror, cut to title screen...

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

And that's the first five minutes or so. Looks pretty badass. I'll be back after I watch the rest...

O.k., there ARE Terminators in the show. So far they had a T-800 pose as a substitute teacher to kill John.

And they've actually had a twist that was pretty good. Don't want to spoil it.

O.k., I'm a little confused. Apparently, the t.v. show is totally dropping t3? It starts in 99, two years after the events of t2, but at the end of the pilot, they jump through time to 2007. So wouldn't Skynet have already taken over? Wasn't t3 in 2005? Wouldn't there be two Johns in this period?

Confusing, but pretty damn cool nonetheless. I hope it gets picked up for a full season.

I read somewhere that this series is treating T3 as an alternate reality.

I'm really interested in seeing what this series has to offer. I love Terminator and I hope it does the franchise justice. I also read somewhere that this series somehow ties into the upcoming Terminator 4 (if it ever gets made), so I would think it would follow the same timeline as T3. Unless, of course, T4 will somehow acknowledge both the T3 and the TV timelines. Two parallel universes converging into one timeline. It could happen...theoretically...I guess.

Wait a minute...is this some kind of Smallville-like continuity, or does it attempt to carry the movie over from T2?

I ask because T2 takes place in the early 1990s, not 1997 like someone said. I'm not sure exactly what year T2 happens (it's not 1991, the year of its release), but I know that August 1997 (Judgment Day) was pretty far in the future.

I won't mind this continuity error if it's a completely new continuity, like Smallville, that has the story take place in present day.

On the show, they clearly state that it is '99, two years after they blew up Cyberdine. Part of the thrust of the show is that the FBI is chasing them because they are accused of murdering Miles Dyson.

Makes sense if you think about it, because T1 was 84, and John was 12/13 in T2, so that'd make it 97.

So it is after T2, because they make constant references to it. I don't remember when T3 was set, maybe 2010.

But they do jump to 2007 at the end of the pilot.

Just finished, decent plot, seems to be going somewhere, has the cute chick from Firefly, special effects are decent for a Tv series, I think I'll like it if future episodes live up to this one,.................................Yep Fox is going to cancel it.

Couldn't agree more on both statements. Giving a show an awesome start, and the running it into the ground later on is the only thing FOX is consistant about. I swear the higher-ups at FOX are either ADD or on crack.

Let me try and help to clear up the years. This is movie years not when the movie was released. T1 took place in1984, John was to be born in 1985. T2 took place in 1995. I know that sounds off but, when the T1000 looks at the police computer in the car, it shows John's age of 10. T3, is supposed to take place 10 years later in 2005. They merely didn't look back at the whole timeline when they made him quote when he talked about T2.

Now, I can explain a few more things, like the timelines. Which I enjoy doing btw. Lol, because I show the events as they occur: without the Terminator coming back in time, WITH the terminator coming back in time, and the timeline effects of the ending of T2.

Timelines

Normal(without terminator coming back)

1985--------------------------------------------------2005
John born----------------------------------Terminator takeover

Terminator coming back(T1)

1984--------1985-----------------1997--------------------2029
T1--------John Born-----------Term take over---Send back Kyle

New timeline(t2)(timeline restored)

1984------1985----------------1995-----------------------2005
T1-------John Born----Prevents creation for 97-----Term. takeover

how bout an arnold vs. arnold?

Spoiler
08-04-2007, 08:26 AM
Well, I don't wanna burst your bubble, but there was an article I found back when they first announced SCC. Ahnold isn't likely to do any more Terminator movies..between his governator stuff, and and from what I am hearing, his considering ammendment change to allow him to become president!

But, IF he were to do it, it would be entrirely possible, because he is just one of the models, they use the same looking skin/body on multiple versions. For instance, Ahnold, is version T-800 Model 101.. and say, the one terminator from Kyles dream is model 102
etc...

Arnold probably wont appear he's to busy being the governor of California. If the show does well they might get him for a cameo or flashback scene, but it's on fox and there is only a 50/50 chance it'll last more than a season. It was a miracle that Dark Angel lasted 2. Your best bet is to see it and start telling people how good it is. I liked the pilot it has potential, but I need to see where the plot is going before I decide if the series is decent. Their going to need to keep the pace they started at in the first episode and not slow down too much if they want to keep the audience interested. I was starting to like DRIVE, but it didn't make it past four episodes. Because of stupid decisions like this many people are afraid of investing any intrest in a series on Fox for fear it'll go away as soon as it gets good.

See that is one thing I don't like about in movies...where they change the actors and make it like nothing happened. If he were to be a different model number yes, but not if they are making him to be the same as arnold. I hate when they try that crap. It's like "Hey, were going to put The Rock in this to play as Arnolds part" While I think the rock is a good actor...but you can't just replace actors like that and expect people to think it is the same.

I need more 1 liners and puns from AHNOLD!!!!

Just each other, and lots of guns , swords and weaker Terminators to kill. and maybe a bowling alley to hang out at while wearing people skins.

First Terminator Photo From The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Source: Entertainment Weekly
November 4, 2007

Entertainment Weekly has published this new photo of Owain Yeoman as a Terminator in Fox's upcoming "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," from Warner Bros. Television and C-2 Pictures.

At the end of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Sarah vanquished the liquid metal Terminator sent from the future to kill her teenage son, John. Sarah and John now find themselves alone in a very dangerous, complicated world. Fugitives from the law, they are confronted with the reality that still more enemies from the future, and the present, could attack at any moment. "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" reveals what happens when Sarah (Lena Headey, 300) stops running and goes on the offensive against an ever-evolving technological enemy bent on destroying her life, and perhaps the world. Her son, 15-year-old John Connor (Thomas Dekker, "Heroes"), knows that he may be the future savior of mankind, but is not yet ready to take on the mantle of leadership that he's told is his destiny. John finds himself inextricably drawn to Cameron (Summer Glau, "Serenity," "The Unit"), an enigmatic and otherworldly student at his high school, who soon proves to be much more than his confidante – she assumes the role of Sarah and John's fearless protector. On their trail are not only threats from the future, but an intelligent and tough FBI agent, James Ellison (Richard T. Jones, "Judging Amy"), who soon becomes a powerful ally.

In the reinvention of the "Terminator" franchise, the strong and intrepid Sarah discovers that protecting her son and stopping the rise of the machines is more difficult than she had ever imagined.

It's an alternate ending for T2 that sucks and totally doesn't fit the mood of the rest of the film. But the link does work.

I read far too many of the responses on that page than any sane person should, partly because I was somewhat fascinated by the sheer number of people that said something to the effect of "ZOMG I LOLZ @ Michael JAckson turnd 40 WTF". Sure, most of them probably weren't even born in 1991, but still. However..this reply almost makes that 10 minutes wasted worth it:

Then, the day arrives when Kyle Reese was supposed to go back to 1984 to mate with Sarah. But since Skynet/Cyberdyne wasn't around to invent the time machine either, he can't. He does take some time to get busy with wrinkly old Sarah, but that doesn't help, of course. So John begins to fade from existance. Then Doc Brown arrives and says, "Great Scott! A cataclysmic paradox!" and the universe is destroyed. The end.
