New IDW Transformers Compilation Volumes for 2009

IDW-Logo Another host of new Transformers titles has been listed on Amazon, this time published by IDW. The new movie, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen, leads the pack with trade paperbacks of the Movie Adaptation, Prequel: Alliance, and Prequel: Defiance. These are due in June 2009. Before that though in May 2009, there is Transformers The Movie Omnibus Edition which is thought to contain the adaptation of the first movie, its prequel, Reign of Starscream and possibly the Target comics. Wow! A "Movie Universe" book is also in the works for May 09 along with a selection of the books we reported earlier tonight.

In other Transformers comic news, Transformers Animated will receive an almanac edition in August 2009, along with two more screen capture volumes. IDW's Generation 1 Comics will see a Premiere Edition Voume 2 in May 2009 and Maximum Dinobots Trade Paperback in July. Dreamwave's Energon comics are also getting reprinted in July 09, with two more Marvel reprint volumes hitting in June 09 and August 09. To top it all off, Jim Sorenson's two Transformers Ark Character model volumes are being collected as one big volume in August 2009, and a mysterious Transformers Robot Heroes volume titled "I am Optimus Prime" is due in May 2009.

Medianetwork Communication who is handling the release of the DVDs has released the artwork for the third volume with cover art once again provided by the talented Emiliano Santalucia. Jim Sorenson opens Disciples of Boltax blog, Previously Unseen Generation 1 Character Models Posted

Alien Jim Sorenson, author of the two Transformers character model compendiums The Ark and The Ark II, has started his own blog, Disciples of Boltax. To kick off the blog, he has posted images of a pair of aliens originally designed as alien prisoners in the third season episode Chaos. The designs were never used in this episode, though they did make it into the show in the episode Starscream's Ghost.

News Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Books including Five Novels

ScannedImage-11 A huge list of new Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen books has been added to Amazon.com for preorder! This list of new titles includes five novels:

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: Operation Autobot, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: The Last Prime, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: When Robots Attack!, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: Made You Look! and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: Spot the 'Bots.

There is also the inevitable movie adaptation novel, with Alen Dean Foster once again taking up the writing chores. A "junior novel" adaptation is also being published, which contains a condensed version of the story omitting the more violent elements.

Lastly there is a selection of other books, including two children's I Can Read books - Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: I Am Optimus Prime and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: Rise of the Decepticons. A character guide - Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Mix and Match - a reusable sticker album and a coloring & activity book round out the listing.

tfa02nizzi IDW Transformers writer Chris Mowry has updated his The Full Mowry blog with a cover to Issue #2 of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Movie Prequel: Alliance. This cover is drawn by Josh Nizzi, who has also done concept art work on the movie sequel itself. Issue #2 of Alliance is due out in comic book shops in January 2009.

IDW to Release Transfomers Movie Omnibus

Per a pre-order listing on Amazon.ca, IDW Publishing will release a Transformers Movie Omnibus on May 29, 2009. This paperback is listed at 328 pages, which makes it likely that this Omnibus will contain the Movie prequel, Movie comic adaption, Target and DVD exclusive comics, and the Reign of Starscream mini-series. The release of this omnibus seems to be coordinated with the release of the movie sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, that will hit theatres less than a month later on June 26, 2009.

HBO's Transformers Weekend in Malaysia

hboop HBO will be hosting a Transformers Weekend in Malaysia this weekend in celebration of the coming of Transformers to the HBO channel in Malaysia on December 21st at 9 PM. The event will be held from this Friday, November 21st to Sunday, November 23rd. Guests can watch Starscream transform and get their picture taken with Optimus Prime. The first twenty people to show up in a Transformers costume or bring Transformers figures on Saturday will receive a goodie bag full of at least RM300-worth of Transformers premiums. In addition, the first twenty people to show up on Saturday and bring a printout of this page can redeem a goodie bag full of at least RM120-worth of Transformers premiums.

The event will be held at the Ikano Power Center in Mutiara Damansara, Selangor, Malaysia.

Transformers Universe Finger Boards Discovered

fingrbrd Heat Guy of our 2005 Boards has made an interesting discovery at a local Walgreens store. An assortment of Transformers-themed Finger Boards have been released under the Transformers Universe banner. These Finger Boards are small skateboards with moving, customized parts where the user performs skateboard tricks with his/her hand instead of feet. The Transformers Universe assortment covers three Generation One characters: Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Bumblebee.
